Couldn’t get the full match, but for me that is not evidence that he is toast. He was 1v1 running backwards, had a nibble and didn’t get the ball. Player goes down and it’s a foul. Unlucky to get a read really. If it’s inside the box, it’s a penalty and a yellow. But the ref deemed JB the last man I guess and gave him the red card even though the other defender was basically level. He only played 9 mins due to this so hard to draw any conclusions about him other than he made one mistake.

Boateng is still likely better than any defender we have.

He's just not good enough for Bayern. 31 is not too bad age wise, but obviously we don't want him on more than a 2 year deal

He would just be another bandaid and the problem with old bandaids is they keep falling off.

Good post. Especially the opening line!

p.s. I have no idea on how cooked Boateng might be, but the idea of getting an in-shape, veteran, experienced CB on loan (or short-term deal) is intriguing.

Seeing a number of stories/rumors claiming that with Xhaka likely staying our focus will be defense and it is unlikely we do any major deals. They were heavily considering Upamecano because we thought they could get a good deal given his contract but Leipzig is still demanding top dollar so that move is off until the summer. Most likely any incoming deal we do will be a loan.

Also Ornstein saying that we could loan or sell up to 12 players this window.

Ox ain't it. He's a Mulatto Jack Wilshire, no in game intelligence whatsoever. The players I wish we would've kept for Arteta are Iwobi, JRA and Gnabry. Water under the bridge obviously

Remember how long Wenger hung on to that guy despite him being obviously done?

Does Arsenal attract an unusually high number of triple named or multiple last named players?

    AOC
    JRA
    JAR
    AMN
    ESR
    PEA
    TJJ

Ox had less brains than Gervinho. That was a great sale.

There are also rumors that Mustafi's new agent is on his way to Turkey to hold talk with Galatasaray.

Looks like ESR is being loaned out to Huddersfield. Not sure how to make of this: ideally it gets him far more minutes than if he stayed, but wondering if loaning him out means Arteta doesn't rate him.

He's not ready right now. I don't think it means anything about his future at Arsenal.

I agree. He's also injured way too often to have his impact felt at Anfield.

I didnt reply because I could point out to another dozen of games in the last two years but Bayern yesterday getting thrashed by 2nd Buli relegation fodder will also do the trick. I really hope the transfer happens and you will come back to this thread crying after Mustafi. Look at the first goal and see Boateng doesnt care anymore

Mavropanos gets loaned out to Nuremberg in Bundesliga 2. If he is going to play in 2nd leagues rather him play in the championship and get him English footballing experience and toughen him up..
