at the end of the game everyone is making a dash for the exits. at the beginning of the game, or the beginning of the second half though...excellent idea. I have my Fisher Out scarf ready to go for added emphasis. that guy is absolutely terrible for San Jose. I'm surprised there hasn't been more of a backlash already. Apathy I guess.
I was wondering about that. I wonder if they will replace it with a big 'Earthquakes' sign or just 'Quakes'?
Hopefully with a big 'Earthquakes' sign... or even better, with a big 'San Jose Earthquakes' sign. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Earthquake (Avaya) stadium has made it to prime time tv during Microsoft Surface NFL playoff commercial.
Fixed your post. Though I wonder why they didn't film that 49ers-centered commercial in Levi's Stadium instead. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
In what way? As long as I don't see those pointy ball lines on opening night I could care less that they rented the stadium out to make a commercial. And who knows, maybe Surface Pro Stadium is in the works.
Sorry I was so vague, my patience with this organization is at the breaking point. I just think it's a joke that a professional team in Silicon Valley, home of so many major corporations, can't get a jersey and/or stadium sponsor. So what did Tom Fox accomplish while he was here? Google, Facebook and Apple I understand are not going to sponsor the Quakes, they are global corporations, Quakes aren't a global team like Man Utd, Liverpool, Barcelona.....just show's how much little respect Fisher has with the corporate big wigs in Silicon Valley...don't see corporations knocking down the door to be associated with the Oakland A's either...coincidence? I think not.
Maybe that's a good thing. https://www.washingtonpost.com/tech...e-antitrust-investigation-by-house-lawmakers/
Also, don't forget the brief time KNTV was literally an independent station, from the time it ceased being a Bay Area ABC affiliate station in July 2000 until it became the Bay Area's NBC O&O (owned-and-operated) station in December 2001. That could possibly partially explain why the San Jose Earthquakes got more KNTV coverage during that brief time (including the team's 2001 championship run) than they got in subsequent seasons. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
The Quakes and Niners obviously have a good working relationship; as evident in this commercial and the Quakes playing occasional games at Levi's. I wonder why Jed York/The Niners haven't taken an ownership interest in our FC. They already have a stake in Leeds United and at one time (I believe) were involved in Sac Republic FC. Fisher should bring them on as investors, which could help us attract more corporate sponsorships through the Niners (jersey, stadium naming rights, etc). As a LAS VEGAS Raiders fan I absolutely abhor the Niners, but if they became part of the Quakes organization in any way I'd abhor them a little less ..
Just because they have a good working relationship doesn't mean they think they need to be co-investors. And what if York said to buy in he would want 1/3 of the games at Levi's? Barf.
The players and coaches are employed by MLS. MLS has a deal with the referees, so essentially, they also work for MLS. If I publicly chastise my employer for any reason, my employer, as a private company, has the right to discipline or even fire me, period (usually in the contract I have with them). That type of speech is not protected by the constitution. "Free speech" is an overused, misunderstood part of US society.
I was alluding to the MLS fan code of conduct, which reportedly last season prevented Salt Lake fans from displaying a variant of the American flag. As previously mentioned, I intend to challenge this nonsense next season by displaying a flag of my choosing (which I already ordered and which has arrived and is in my possession) during a game of my choosing in my front row seats in view of the TV cameras. I dare security to try to have me removed after MLS belatedly allowed Cascadia fans to display Iron Front flags. And, by the way, I live in California, whose constitution ostensibly provides more extensive free speech protection than the federal variant.
If the Quakes affiliate themselves with the Niner's they will lose me as a supporter. Not that they would care.
https://sacramento.cbslocal.com/201...nto-leading-up-to-mls-expansion-announcement/ Former Hewlett Packard CEO Meg Whitman, her husband, Griff Harsh, and San Francisco 49ers CEO Jed York initially pledged to join the ownership roster – but withdrew before the final bid was submitted.
Goodbye to our stadium sponsorship revenue as well (even if it didn't amount to much). Silicon Valley...LOL!
