85" Smith shoulda have sqaured the ball to Ronaldo or at least hit the target from that range. The frontline has been blunt to say the least

That referee has something against us. Has given 3 yellows to our defenders, and didn't punish the Villa defender who fouled Ronaldo in the corner of the pitch.

Oh man. Smith shot from close range hit the crossbar. '91 should have convert it easily.

    I don't know. I don't think Smith knows, either.

To sum it up. We controlled the game, passed well but didn't have too many clear shots on goal. There was a spell of about 10 minutes when we were under attack, but we survived and took over again. Ronaldo did well when he came on, I dont think he gave the ball away once and he played a supreme ball through to keane who gave Smith that chance.

All in all good game and 3 points! :D

What a match! I was on my feet for the last 30 minutes. talk about tense...

We played like a brazilian team, brilliant skill to get around players and strip balls from the offense, but the final touches, the passes and shots, what was up with those? winger passes couldnt find a damn thing inside the villa 20 yard line. hats off to a villa side hanging by a thread

    Match Notes :

    1 goal scored
    no goals suffered
a win, a move up to 3rd place, and probably the biggest miss of the season from Smith.

Like the Chelskis say all the time " it's that we won, and not how we won that counts... "

Yeah, O'Leary could have lept from the bench, run onto the pitch, hacked off Rio's knees with an axe and Graham Poll would have waved "play on".... and then sent off Keano for giving him a dirty look, and awarded Villa a free kick from our own goal line....

Nice to get the 3 points, Smith will need to score early next game, we'll need his confidence if Rooney's gash is that bad, or he gets banned by the FA tomorrow..
