As I sit here watching my son at ODP training, I'd have to say I'm an American soccer guy from top to bottom. That would include watching YA, MLS, USL, DA, and ECNL. I can't help it if you're sensitive to opinions outside of your own.

Red Bull transcends the great Euro/MLS divide. No need for labels.

Login hoping to see celebratory posts about his return...

....find mostly squabbling about his position with the national team. Where he has literally played one game under the current coach.

    Don’t ever change, big soccer

    lol.

More delicious irony for you to point out sensitivity to other opinions as you refuse to go to the USMNT forums because there are posters who disagree with you. Maybe we should put a trigger warning in that part of the forum.

Let me be clear, you and others are freely entitled to believe that Adams should be a RB for the USMNT but YA isn’t the place for that. I’m happy to debate the point in the right forum.

I wouldn't read too much into him playing right back.

Playing CM for the league leaders right after injury was not realistic. Requires a lot of time to get back in synch with flow of the game, teammates, etc.

Coaches wanted him on the pitch before the break which I think is my focus. They want him on the pitch more than someone else, even not at his natural position. Yes, right back is where all american players go to die, but that's just because they die there, Adams will work his way up the pitch.

One game back after a 9 month absence does not a career make. The jury is still out whether he can play CONSISTENTLY pain free.

Adams plays, this thread turns into a weird pissing contest, I unsubscribe from the thread.

A tale as old as time.

Every thread in this forum that involves a good American player sucks.

I don't post in the nats forum because it seems to attract the least knowledgable posters on BS making it a poor place to discuss soccer. It seems to work for you though.

Team chemistry is rarely a solid. More like a liquid, very fluid. Form goes in and out for 90% of them too. But as to chemistry, it's easy to look back to last season and clearly see Adams only brings positives to chem lab.

How can some of you be so argumentative around the holidays.

You'd argue over which way to pass the bread around the dinner table.

You're in YA - they won't pass to you at all, but if you manage to score a dinner roll their body language will clearly show dissapointment.

I'm surprised to see him back right away, but as Hamwich said, what is interesting is that the coach wanted to see him before the break. It's very unusual for an American player to rank this high in a foreign coach's appreciation, and speaks very highly of Tyler.

I mean, guys, the BL league leaders felt so strongly about getting our son back on the field before the winter break, they were willing to do so at a position he's never even played for them before. That's a good thing!

After I haven’t seen him in top shaped for almost a year, I forgot how good he is. We have never had a player who can so effortlessly and quickly receive and then pass them the ball. He finds solutions to nearly every problem that comes his way way. He’s also lightening quick, players much larger than his size, and has great anticipation.

Ah, man, give us a break. Solved that quarrel 30 yrs ago by having two bread baskets going in opposite directions, each starting at opposite ends of the table.

dont think I’ve forgotten your genius use of the reverse asymptotic jinx. You’re awesome.

conversely, @Bruce S soccrextly pointed out that Brooks was excellent vs. BM with 10 minutes to go and they gave us two (he still played extremely well).

    we are all constanza now.

Just listen to this interview. What a player and what a mentality. Back enjoying his football again he says. Dude you played 86 minutes out of position after being out 8 months. Who does that?

Let me be clear: I don't think Tyler Adams should be a right back for the US. I merely pointed out that his UCL coach decided to play him there, in a position that lots of people crapped on Berhalter about. He now has as many games in that position with his club team as with the national team.
