adams does well to draw a foul in a very dangerous area. bit more aggressive taking on defender with the ball there

refreshing to see an american player able to control the ball, make space for himself and pass forward out of tight situations. You'd think this would be the simplest and first thing they are taught...but virtually none of them can do it.

Adams with a good shift. Very lively. Very quick. Can't wait to see him back in midfield where he can pick pockets and spring the attack.

Right back is not his best position, and he quickly looked more at home at d-mid, but overall a good performance.

I think Adams played DM for about 3 minutes before he was subbed off.

    Adams looked very good throughout

fit and a spring in his step and he looked very pleased to be back on the field

right before he got subbed he bent over at his waist after the ball went out

Hope he was just winded and nothing else happened

he is so insanely athletic in a team full of piss and vinegar

RB just knows when and how to dramatically dial up the pressure ....

I hope he recovers well from the outing.

Is this the last game before winter break?

Right back is not his best position because it limits his choices with his passes and dribbles. Give the kid any kind of space and he can be deadly. He did have two passes in seriously confined spaces near OOB that connected that I have no idea how they got there. He is terrific. His speed is legit, he has great vision and his ball control is special. Really bummed he did not get that assist to start the game... it did touch his hand but not enough to change the trajectory. Just bad luck there. The fact that he played 85' in his first game back is encouraging physically and shows confidence by the manager. All-in-all... 1st game back? Pretty darn good.

One downside with Adams at RB is there were a number of situations in this game where Adams received the ball wide in the attacking third, and I would have expected another RB to attempt a cross in those positions, but Adams instead recirculated the ball back into possession.

Phenomenal! Kid's first chance back and starts. For the 1st place BL club. I'm firmly in the camp of "no matter how good RB Leipzig is, they are better with Adams". He was missed by them, as he's made the case today. Amazing player, really. Very excited to see him back!

Spring is the time for rejuvenation and growth. Our guys need some of that. If they all stay healthy and continue growing, it could be a fun second half. This one took a little longer than expected and some of the others may need time to mend, but it could be a lovely spring.

Leipzig don’t have a player like him (not a lot of teams do) and he’s the best American player. Exciting to have him back. Now stay healthy

Wait, so Berhalter isn't the only coach that sees potential in Adams as a right back?

    Context matters.

he’s just returning from a long term injury to a team that’s leading the table led by their midfield.

Comparing top of B1 RBL’s midfield options to Bradley and trapp is not apples to oranges.

Give the spin doctors time to weave together a story that includes Garber. Art takes time.

it’s funny when MLS guys come to YA to extoll/defend Berhalter/MLS completely out of context.

the really hypocritical ones do it while sanctimoniously complaining about the exact same thing in the USMNT part of the forum.
