Third EAFF won in a row. Overall, it was a decent tournament. Korea was consistent and vigorous today. Defensively they have improved since Bento has taken over the team (even though Kim Tae Hwan was constantly overwhelmed against Japan). KMJ was a rock today and NSH showed some moments of class in this tournament.
Beat Japanese Olympics team 1-0 with most of our senior NT players.. Always happy to hear we beat Japan tho.
Japanese olympic team ? 7 of their players on the field today (starting 11 + subs) were overaged to play at the Olympic games. Yeah most of our senior NT members played but if you remove SHM, HUJ, HHC, LJS, KCH, LKI... it makes a difference. Don't you think ?
it isn't... just fringe players vs fringe players. Korea likely had 1st team GK & perhaps the defense but that's about it.
Didn't think Japan was ever going to score this game with the way KMJ was playing. (Don't want to see him available for selection for next years EAFF Cup though) ..And pretty much A-Team backline other than Kim Tae Hwan who looked very uncomfortable. Lee Jeong Hyub..thanks for coming out. Hope you enjoyed that but that was the last NT game for you. Na Sang Ho was class and so was Kim In-Sung. Too bad for him we're stacked on wingers. Well taken goal from HIB and a good tournament from him but I hope Bento doesn't use this to keep LKI on the bench for him..what a joke that would be.

LKI is still raw and currently lacks HIB's ability to control tempo, find spaces, and defensive discipline. But he has greater technical abilities and a nose for goals. But it probably doesn't matter if LKI is continued to ask to play in the wings.
To be fair, Lee JH's movements off the ball were pretty interesting. But that one on one situation was maddening, should have scored that. The game would have been killed. He's an intelligent player but he clearly lacks talent, he doesn't know what to do with the ball. Na Sang-Ho was class, agree, I don't know if you saw that move against China as well, just brilliant. Moreoever, he's an hard worker, I understand more why Bento constantly calls him up. I was satisfied as well with the midfield (HIB,JSJ, SJH). I wonder if SJH is a viable option instead of JWY.
disagree on this opinion. ability to control tempo & find space.. is actually a strength of Lee KI. while we have only seen it from U20 WC... i can say, I haven't seen HIB control tempo & find space all that well in MLS (he ultimately became a "defensive pivot" at the latter stage of MLS season.. and mostly booted the ball) nor for senior NT. btw, i think it is pointless to analyze or rate players based on worthless tournament like EAFF. edit - also, direct competition for HIBs position/role is Paik SH .. isn't it? even in this regard, Paik SH is far superior option
