To revisit and go more in depth on this. My club coach growing up was the head coach at Bethel college. When he started they only had 2 Americans on the roster. The rest were England, Ireland, South American, or Mexican academy players who almost made it but not quite. I watched that Bethel team beat both Notre Dame and Michigan State by 3 goals. NAIA is a very underrated route and the competition can actually be very good. There is minimal recruiting restrictions.

This is not impressive. Shows once again, he has no separation. Then the dancing on the ball adds nothing of value. It'll look good on a twitter video, but aside from that, it doesn't add much to scoring goals. I'm trying not to be too critical of the kid. He doesn't create this hype. He can only try to play as well as he's capable of. I'm sure he's a good kid, but he's not good at soccer, and these types of videos are exactly the problem with the Pynadath analysis that I see from some. They take this as impressive and a good sequence about his skillset. I take it as something that looks good on a video, and doesn't project well to pro soccer.

Kelman on his way back from injury.

Consider the source, but I wouldn't rule out that its true.

First video I've seen of this guy. Looks like a #6 or #8. I like how he receives the ball under pressure. Aside from that, pretty basic video, but I believe it was from only a few games, so its probably not the best video you could find of him.

The video of Adrian is a short one, but even at that I see quality. It's been fun following Konrad's progress, now we have Adrian to follow. From.what I've heard about La Masia is that the training is 2nd to none, so even if young Adrian never makes it to the 1st team at Barca, the training he gets will make him an in-demand target elsewhere. That's assuming, of course, that he moves up the ranks in their youth system and stays healthy.

Tbf its hard to create separation when somebody has a fistful of your jersey.

this is a romantic view of la masia i’d like to subscribe to but the truth is as someone just posted even at konrads level next to no one “makes” it

I agree, but he's never been able to create separation. Pulisic would've created separation, Reyna would've, Amon would've, Llanez would've, de la Fuente probably would've, Taitague probably would've. Pynadath is very slow, and for a winger (I doubt he can play as a CAM), thats something he's going to have to overcome a lot in other ways.

Just curious, because I haven’t, but have you watched full games of his where he looks slow?

To me in clips he definitely looks to have quick feet and potentially a pretty good say first 5 Yards. I could see how over 10 yards he might not maintain it thiught.

He is very good at soccer but sometimes genetics can just work against you. He is the best 1v1 player we have probably ever produced but when your body doesn't let you speed around the guy in front of you then there is just nothing you can really do. He has the creativity for a CAM but he needs to bulk up for that position. I think he could still make it in MLS, I don't see much of a difference between him and Griffin Yow. The USYNT and USMNT future for Pynadath is just not there sadly, the winger pool for the u20 cycle is too deep.

I partially agree. If he had that 1v1 flair with Pulisic’s speed, he would be a lot better. Would he have better vision, soccer IQ, shooting? It’s too much speculation.

I don’t see a playmaking skillset. I have no issue with slower attacking midfielders, but if they are slow and then don’t have the middle of the field playmaking to run a game centrally, that’s a bad combo. I’m not sure Pynadath’s vision and soccer IQ is much better than his athleticism. I don’t think he’s a middle of the field player.

I don’t see much distance between him and Yow, but I don’t see either as more than incredibly marginal prospects. Yow has good footwork and can score, either from distance or finding the ball in the box, but he brings so little outside of that. I’ve watched a lot of Yow and Kayo because they’ve played in the same DC teams the last few years as Nyeman, and I am pretty sure of my assessment that neither will amount to much. The DC prospects that I’ve liked are some of their 03’s (Paredes, Greene, Rainey).

Reason not to sign USL. Although Cervantes wouldn't be eligible for a UK work permit either way even when he turns 18 if he has no EU passport-which I don't think he has. Training in UK is a dead end although a great experience for him I am sure. He is good enough to play in Europe but it will have to be somewhere other than the UK.

USL is perfectly fine on short one or two year deals. Cervantes would still be playing U19 USSDA until he turns 18 if he didn’t sign with Orange County.

I don't see what signing or not signing in USL has to do with a player's eligibility for a UK work permit. What am I missing here?

Signing/not signing a USL contract has nothing to do with playing in the UK. He can't get a UK work permit without an EU passport regardless. My general point is that IMO, if you want to go to an EU club in a country you can play in when you are 18, its a mistake to be locked into a USL contract. It prevents free movement once your are age eligible. Not sure of the length of his contract. He signed a couple days before he turned 16.

USL contracts are one year, two years tops in length. Also, Cervantes isn’t 18 yet.

Nice. Another good looking little winger. We might be able to start 10 wingers pretty soon. Three years ago we had none. Can we get Balogun somehow?
