I hate to be the one defending Berrio all the time because I do not like his game at all but there's not too many right sided wingers in our player pool who are in good form. Most of them drift toward the left. Maybe Sinisterra can take his spot though since he can play that position if need be.
Queiroz uses Cuadrado more centrally now in a different role but yes he does go out wide. Muriel can play the right side but is more natural on the left. Berrio usually sticks the the right side. But as I said I hope Sinisterra gets called up instead. Queiroz likes Berrio though so we shall see.
I agree with this. But him not even being on the list of 37 is a bit concerning. Plus even he has been playing more of a left sided role for Fluminense with the occasional right sided attacks.
Carlos Queiroz confirms that the final squad list for Colombia's October friendlies in Europe against Chile and Algeria will be released next Tuesday (1 October).Queiroz: "In November we will be playing Peru (15th) and we're also trying to finish with a game against Ecuador."— Carl Worswick (@cworswick) September 25, 2019
Al parecer no habrá sorteo para Catar 2022 y se mantendrá por ende el mismo calendario de las eliminatorias pasadas. Hay varias federaciones presionando para que se mantenga
Not that I care, if we'll be good enough we'll qualify. I would prefer a new one but really doesn't matter.
I agree I would hate to start with Brazil, although looking at the 1st 5 games (WCQ 2018 results) Col vs Peru (won) Uru vs Col (lost) Chile vs Col (tied) Col v Arg (lost) Bol vs Col (won) 3 out of the 4 went to the WC and Bolivia in La Paz is tough, especially early on in qualifiers...ughh, this schedule is already stressing me out. From the teams above, Peru has improved and Chile has declined. Uruguay have stayed consistently strong and Argentina has improved. Bolivia is still low man.
Yeah peru have increased "something" ....but not enough to defeat us at home... they lost friday agaisnt us....in our worst match of the year (even worse than argelia).......the mediocre format of copa america help them reach to final with only two wins in the tournament and being the teams with more goals received.
I know friendlies don't mean a bunch and folks here get upset when we don't destroy teams like Venezuela. Today they pummeled Japan 1-4 (played in Japan). I hate the current format having to play Conmebol over and over but really no easy teams left in Conmebol.

Tough start for us.... ELIMINATORIAS CATAR 2022!FECHA 1!🇧🇷 vs 🇧🇴🇺🇾 vs 🇨🇱🇦🇷 vs 🇪🇨🇨🇴 vs 🇻🇪🇵🇾 vs 🇵🇪— Fútbol colombiano (@Futbolfpc) December 17, 2019 It looked good at first but then Chile away, Uruguay home, Ecuador away and Brazil at home....
Well, there aren't any easy teams in south america. Even Bolivia can kick anyone's ass in La Paz, so if we're going to qualify it needs to be done no matter were we start.
I don’t think there’s any “easy” schedule for any team Now is a good time to start loading up on the xanax
Easy no, less or more comfortable there is. But I agree that a team who wants to qualify needs to beat their rivals
The schedule looks much tougher for us at the beginning and much easier at the end. It's always tough but getting a good head start will do a lot for our confidence. Honestly looking at our players ages and the players breaking through we likely will be better on paper in 2021 then we are right now so it isn't ideal especially with a rather new manager still. Our squad is deep and our style being set up should do well for tough road games and for the home game against Brazil.
My major concern is the match against Uruguay at home. If we won't win we'll have to find the W either against Ecuador away or Brasil at home. Last qualifiers we had the away games on our side, now I hope we can improve our home results a bit. Plus finally a victory over either Argentina or Brazil can be great.
I see it as a darn favorable start. Not sure what you guys are seeing. Considering in your 1st 6 matches (18 points to play for), you're playing only 2 past WC opponents, one of them at our home. The other 4 are teams have either stayed the same from previous cycles or gotten weaker. If we play our cards right we could have lots of momentum by the time we head into November.
Venezuela @chile Uruguay @Ecuador Brasil @paraguay @Peru Argentina I'd expect 12-14 points in 2020. For comparison, we had 13 points after 8 matches in the 2018 qualifiers. Overall the math is simple: Against the weaker teams (PAR, BOL, ECU) 6 points (18 total). Against the direct competitors (VEN, CHI, PER) 3 points each (9 total) Against the top teams (BRA, ARG, URU) 1 point each (3 total) That put us on 30 points and most likely a direct berth.
