It was so stupid to think to sack Kata. He did not even have much experience with team when they hired Kata to lead iraq for AFC cup.. People want fast result too soon but right now he is delivering good result because he know the players.

yep - really impressed with Iraq so far, winning their two hardest games, so can rest players for the final game vs Yemen. Didn't go tonight, but think I will see Iraq at least one more time in this tournament ;-)

I'm surprised too. First beating Iran in the WCQ's and now this good run even though our league is halted and the situation in Iraq is very tough.

Think we'll have a chance of winning the cup.

What make this even more interesting that we are winning these matches with B-teams. We won Qatar with new young players.

If we win now it would be a miracle like the 2007 Asian Cup during the civil war. Much needed at this point.

We might win this tournament... We now face Bahrain in Semi finals... The reason why we might win this tournament is because all our top players had good rest..If you watch other teams they are in survive mode and they are using all of their top players in every match... They are getting exhausted.. Meanwhile Iraq had their best player in bench over 4 match.

It’s 2021, but there is no 2021 thread so I’ll just post it here. Iraq vs UAE in a friendly on the 12th. Excited to have Hussein Ali back.
