It might have improved a lot in the last 5 to 10 years due to the influx of cheap south american talent and european and south american coaching, but it's still crap. There are colombian teams with worse management and cheaper budgets that are much better.
Based on the history of direct scouting of the Colombian league there's an argument it could help a lot of our young players get to better leagues. There is some good South American talent starting to play in the league and its criminal apart from Argentina how little attention our players get playing in Colombia. It's sad but this could help two fold, our clubs can recoup higher transfer fees if the demand is increased which should then help those clubs get stronger in the long run.
I think it is a case-by-case thing just like most things in life. Some players will go to MLS and stop growing and get worse. Some players will go to MLS and stagnate. Some will get better and get more opportunities. I think someone positive of note that keeps on getting some love around here for the Sub23 is Atuesta. He plays in a good market with a good team with Latino players and fans and he may be flourishing for the Sub 23 come January Pre-Olimpics. So it is not ALL bad as some people here want to make it out to be. But it is not ideal as Europe of course. (Or even Brasil, Argentina, or Mexico.)
I enjoy going to MLS matches with my kids but it's definitely a 'weaker' product on the field than even some international friendlies that come around the states during summer. The only way that MLS can garner more respect for it's league is by winning international hardware. The fact that they still can't win a club title in Concachapions speaks for itself. Let them play CL and/or CS so we can see progression and truly evaluate. Organization wise, marketing, infrastructure, tv, stadiums, etc....MLS is 1st rate and getting better,
inters medical team would have him out till the next World Cup also where would he play? No saying Sensi or Barella are better but Conte isn’t changing formations and James can’t defend. James fkd his career by not staying at Bayern
only if he stays healthy and plays. But yea.... Him at Inter would be a dream. Last player they stole from Real won them a tremble
Yeah I'm not sure if this rumor makes sense. I can't see James playing the Barella/Sensi role as box to box guys. They both defend and press really well, which is James biggest weakness and I don't see them breaking up the Lautaro/Lukaku combo that's worked so well.
In this position is the position that he have played with kovac and zidane...and good....at leats conte is offensive minded barella and sensi in this moment are injure...and it seems that inter dont have backu ups of quality....so they need to improve the midfield ps: sensi doesnt have good defense....i think very similar to james
Conte does set his teams up to attack but I would say he's always fairly pragmatic in how he has his teams defending and being very disciplined. His plan at Inter has been fairly rigid in using two strikers and 3 very active midfielders to cover for the lack of bodies in midfield afforded in using Lukaku and Lautaro, Sensi isn't amazing defensively but he covers a ton of ground. I'd love it if Conte really wants to utilize James but he'd have to change his system somewhat and if he used James in the midfield it would probably unbalance them some. I'm all for it, but for instance Politano can't even sniff the field except for briefly as a backup to Lukaku/Lautaro, I could see James maybe being used in games they are going to dominate but I worry about James going into situations where he's not going into systems that fit him really well and where he's not going to be moved in an out of the lineup.
weird transfer: El delantero Yony González es nuevo jugador del Benfica de Portugal, equipo con el que firmará un contrato por cuatro años y medio.— Diego Rueda (@diegonoticia) December 4, 2019
I see nothing weird about it. That's benfica's business model. They contract a shitload of players, loan them, and if they do well they sell them for a good chunk of money.
I think you're forgetting that Euros even at a low sale goes far when turning into Colombian Pesos....

It's not ideal, but its not like he's leaving a good European league to go to the MLS, he's playing in Mexico which although it is better then MLSm the gap isn't all that wide at this point. If he doesn't have any offers from a step up leagues and the fact that he's recently fallen out of the starting line up in America isn't the worst move in the world. (hopefully he has his eye on Europe or a top Brazil or Argentinian league soon though). My inkling is he would be able to go to a better league but the money may not be right, hopefully CQ gives him a call and lets him know its not gonna help his NT spot.
wont miss him in competitive football......but he should stop being part of national team if he leaves mexico
