Bernardo Silva. Assist in both goals and touched the ball in nearly every attack.

André Silva was terrible and disrespectful to his teammates with his lack of hustle. Reminds me of Joao Felix who also showed zero desire when he was given an opportunity.

I tell the boys I coach all the time, hard work is very important in the field and when you do not, it is disrespectful to your teammates including those on the bench.

Well managed? If Lux had quality in finishing we would have been in huge trouble.

I’m a part time coach and I know good management when I see it. His subs were great and transmitted tranquility from the touch line.

We were lucky that Lux missed an open header, fanned bicycle kick and a couple of loose balls in front of our keeper. Things didn't look tranquil to me but I'm not a part time coach so what do I know.

That wasn't great to watch and induced too much anxiety, but the result is all that matters.

Portugal is up to Pot 2 at the moment thanks to the Czech's loss to Bulgaria. However, it needs Denmark to beat Ireland tomorrow to top that group. If not, Portugal will be back down to Pot 3 and Switzerland (I believe, assuming it beats mighty Gibraltar) up to Pot 2. See @DaleJohnsonESPN on Twitter for all that info...

I'm guilty of being an Andre Silva apologist and blaming lack of service when he struggles, but he simply hasn't improved since he left Porto and his confidence has wavered. Paciencia is playing way better at this point and I thought he was actually good against Lithuania (one goal, another stopped by a great save). His movement is so much better, which plays a big role in, ya know, getting service as a striker.

Hopefully Jota keeps seeing the field. He's relentless and Portugal could really use a high energy, direct attacking player like him on the field.

I'm not sure if Portugal can drop to Pot 4 at this point. It'd have to get surpassed by six fellow second place finishers on this final matchday and all of Portugal's points count toward the pot standings since the group was only five teams.

Kinda agree, but we won, so who cares!

Still DISLIKE Santos (rather have a young Marco silva, he's definitely a coach to watch for.)

I believe in Jota, he's my guy. The others remind me of a pylon.

And Ronaldo is right, that was indeed a potato field. Effing disgrace and even the fans.

The seedings make no sense. Seems like UEFA is changing the criteria on purpose to screw Portugal over. People weren’t happy when we won last time.

I agree. They changed the format purposely to get us a lower seeding. It has always been done based on rankings. This new way makes no sense

Did anyone here really expect today's game to be simple, and done with some beautiful football? I mean didn't all of you know about the pitch way before kickoff? Didn't any of you pay attention to the games in Luxembourg against Ukraine and Serbia? I understand that rational people are essentially at a premium around here, but for the maybe 2 of you that understand context and variables, Portugal played better in Luxembourg than both Ukraine and Serbia. They out chanced Ukraine and big chances were 4-1 in favour of Luxembourg. They also out chanced Serbia, but big chances were even 3-3. We did more than fine today considering winning pretty was never going to be an option.

Sorry, that probably came off us smug. I should learn from someone with a modest username that makes up a percentage of successful youth picks without ever explaining criteria, and never realizing how painfully obvious it is that you're full of

I hope you include me in those 2 people you identified. It was a good game all things considered well managed by Santos.

    Forca Portugal!

I don't think UEFA is out to get Portugal when it comes to seeding/pots for Euro 2020. However, to base seeding on Euro 2020 qualifying results alone completely contradicts Euro 2020 Qualifying as a whole.

    For example:
    • Playoff participants are determined by UEFA Nations League results alone. A team could get 0 points in qualifying and advance to the playoff.
    • The qualifying group draw/schedule had to account for the remaining UEFA Nations League Final matches.
    • BUT THEN when we get to the Euro 2020 draw UEFA pretends Nations League had nothing to do with this qualifying process.

If nothing else, it just doesn't make sense to ignore the Nations League when it was obviously an integral part of Euro 2020 Qualifying. A team can essentially qualify for the tournament because of Nations League results........and yet THE SAME Nations League results then don't actually mean anything once the final 24 is determined.

    It's inconsistent and contradictory.
