Playing on the counter. Sloppy defending, poor finishing, and the team is not shooting from the outside. Trying to make that extra pass.
Cheers! Just seen the pen incident for Brazil, wth was Foyth thinking..?? We really need to fix that sloppy defending.
A couple of touchdowns and those plucky Canarians right back in that one, so good guys/kids got lucky.
Hope all you cats have been well. Only been able to watch the last 20 minutes, but seems like Argentina, despite the lead, pushing forward a lot, foot remains on accelerator. I love it. Lautaro with the nice self nutmeg, that would have had a high probability of going in. Staff must have seen something on film, guys with open looks cutting in through middle from crosses just outside top of the box. Have missed three since I have been watching, on goal but at Allison. Not sure why the heck nice kid/ NOT READY KID Foyth is out there. Yes, options are limited, but still.
Hope you're good with all those fires out there, hombre, thought of you as they raged. Been a long a55 work year, wish I could have more fun on here than I typically would. How the hell can you guys not like those away uniforms, I love them, especially Mess's Newell's colored captain's band, which I have missed seeing.
While the lone goal was on a somewhat iffy penalty that Messi needed a rebound to put away we deserved the result. That second half was really encouraging and I'm glad they got the win to reinforce it.
Thanks for kinds words. The fires are an October tradition around SoCal. I left before mandatory evacuations but it only lasted a day and a half or so. Being busy is always a plus. But good to see you around. I have to give Scaloni quite a bit of credit. He reads the game well. His second halves are always more encouraging than his first. We did indeed deserve that result. We were the better side in the overall scheme of the game. The defending needs work, still problematic but always a positive beating the brazcuas.
My conclusions: -Paredes, Lautaro and De Paul must always start. They are absolutely irreplaceable (Lautaro has to improve finishing though). - Tagliafico and Foyth are criticized by people but there really isn't any better. And no, don't bring up shitty superliga players like Casco or Montiel. They have to go to Europe first and prove themselves. -Otamendi and Pezzella are shaky, after the Copa América we should really start giving time to Nehuen Pérez, Quarta or Lisandro Martínez. -Lo Celso disappointed again. Ocampos was good. -Andrada shaky. Don't think he can challenge Armani or Marchesin. -Like always, Messi is the only one that knows the way in attack.
I'm confused, you don't want Argentinian league players in the team, but you want Quarta? Agree with the rest of your post though.
Argentina outshot Brazil 14 to 6, with 8 shots on target to their 1. They had plenty of meaningless possession but did nothing with it. As it stands right now, the best possible team is probably: Messi - Lautaro De Paul - Palacios - Paredes - XXXXX Tagliafico - XXXXX - XXXXX - Foyth XXXXX Right wing position is perhaps the biggest headache to me. There are a lot of decent options there like Ocampos, Lo Celso, Acuna, Lanzini or perhaps even Dybala, but no one has made that position theirs as of yet. Palacios is a must in midfield when he is available. He has both the workrate and the technical ability that Argentina desperately needs. Paredes and De Paul have shown good chemistry together. In fact, I’d argue that this year alone those two have outplayed Brazil’s midfield twice. Centerbacks - I am not a big fan of Otamendi but he was good today. Pezzella is a decent squad player but not good enough to start. There are a lot of young options there like Romero, Lisandro Martinez, Balerdi, etc... Goalkeeper? I genuinely have no idea. There are about six options all as good as each other: Andrada, Armani, Marchesin, Musso, Benitez, Gazzaniga
For the future, not now. First he has to go to Europe and prove himself. Until he does we should keep Otamendi and Pezzella.
And people say Messi doesn't win any trophies with Argentina pic.twitter.com/kX9qlPDrE9— GOLAZO (@golazoargentino) November 15, 2019
Now now, it's just a friendly. Let's be serious. The real trophy is the one he has to lift in Colombia next June.
