Are their any special players on this team like a Carlos Vela type or is it more like busts that will amount to nothing like a Carlos Fierro?
damn, this game is at 2:30 ET today....guess i'll have to have on my second monitor, anyone know an app I can watch this on? The books have us at +350 or +1 -122, so pretty big dog.
I wouldn’t call him a bust, he’s a decent player, a professional. Also vela and Gio never reached the heights most would have liked so not sure we need to compare everyone to those two. At this age you just hope a couple pan out. I’m bias but I like Santi, think he has potential.
Right? Wtf not dream, they made it this far. Folks immediately seem to shit on the kids because they don’t play like Barça. I watched a number of the 2005 u17 wc and they didn’t look anything like Barça either. In knockouts...just find a way to stay in it and don’t choke when opportunity presents itself. I haven’t watched too much of this wc but from the little I have seen, they seem ok. I expect a tight match.
I understand that these WCs get us riled up but the excessive hand wringing and negativity over a bunch of chirren is mind boggling. Only a few teams have displayed truly great football in this youth tournament; keyword, “youth”. Anyway, I’m happy to see my adopted national team advance and hope they win 20-0!
The complaining about people being negative is sometimes more annoying that the negativity. I don’t think anyone is being excessively negative. It’s also a U17 WC. I’m pumped up but we’ve been here before.
I honestly believe Mexico can grind out a win if the defense and mids bring their A game and Efra and Muñoz finish their chances. The defense has been solid for most of the tournament, only giving up 2 goals to Italy.
Also worth saying that Pizzuto wasn’t there for the Italy game. At least one Italy goal started with a dumb turnover in the midfield. Who knows how that game would have gone but we would’ve stood a better chance.
lol nah goalposts kept getting moved after the loss to italy from: japan is gonna destroy this team to: south korea is a better team than mexico to: whatever the current iteration is It's fine. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but let's not pretend like BSMX is the embodiment of positive thinking and/or stoicism.
I’m not seeing the same thing you’re seeing. I think the comments have been more reserved than negative. But whatever, I’ll be supporting even if I’m not sure they can win. We’re all a bit surprised they made it this far.

Mexico vs. Netherlands Live on Telemundo and FS2 - 11:30am PST FS2 live stream: http://123tvnow.com/watch/fox-sports-2-fs2/
Gonna be fun It remains fascinating how different youth football is. So many unpredictable things happen between ages 17-to-20.
Why tf is this ref not giving cards??? The Dutch should be at least 2 yellows in. Horrible reffing in this cup.
