1:2. Davy Klaassen (Werder Bremen) latches on to a pass on the edge of the penalty area and immediately fires a fantastic first-time shot into the right side of the net. What a finish that is! Lukas Hradecky did his best to stop it, but the shot was just too good. Joshua Sargent provided the assistance.
Smart, unselfish play. So simple and yet a lot of strikers won't make that pass because they're looking for their shot.
2 goals/2 assists in 8 league matches. Doing far more than I'd have expected this early in the season.
Sargent is a smart player and he's adapted to being marked close (since he started scoring) by providing assists when he cannot get in a position to score himself.
Very solid outing. He should’ve had a goal. But his hold up play has been magnificent. He will keep his spot for sure.
The hosts complimented him quite a bit during the game. He looks quite dangerous w/ the ball at his feet in the final 3rd. He didn't get a ton of support today... but he made a quality difference. Would have been better if 1 of his 3 shots would have found the back of the net... but overall a very good game for the Red Baron.
Profile from The Daily Mail: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...r-Bremens-American-teenager-Josh-Sargent.html The next Christian Pulisic? Werder Bremen's American teenager Josh Sargent is starting to make a name for himself in Bundesliga... but will the 19-year-old follow in compatriot's path?
Sargent is starting again in the DFB Cup... but Osako is officially back on the bench. Gotta hope Sarge continues to play well.

Thanks for the clip. Great plays all around. For Sargent, nice first touch into space, strength to hold off the double team, and made the right pass while falling down. Took a great settle and blasted shot by Bittencourt, too. Love the way the entire attack went aggressively right away toward dangerous positions.
Based on limited exposure (clips, USMNT games) he falls down a good bit. If he stays on his feet he can pick up bounces for secondary shots. Not bitching, just observing.
