I don't know why people keep talking about this kid. Saying he was the Korean Messi was the most ridiculous thing that I have ever heard in my life. Only thing this kid has in common with Messi is their height. That's about it. His career in Europe is pretty much done. You have to wonder if he can even make it in the K-League. How many teams in K-League can he start for?
I wouldn't say hindsight. Some of us were negative from about the start of his professional career. LSW first of all has a poor attitude, which for me is disqualifying. On top of that, he has a terrible first touch, he dives, he has low footballing IQ. And this was true from the beginning. Is it possible he overcomes all this? It's possible but now likely.
He's also not fast. Someone who plays like him needs to be able to be a threat with his speed. In terms of his attitude, that's the media's fault... Overall, when I watch him play, he plays like someone who's really great, but isn't quite warmed up yet and/or is half-assing everything.
Agree with the above. There's always one of those guys when you play right? Whether it's pick-up soccer or for a league -- there's the guy who thinks he's Neymar, but has terrible IQ, doesn't play for the team, makes a lot of mistakes, and has bad fundamentals but is trying to do the fancier stuff when he gets the ball. That's LSW.
https://www.voetbalbelgie.be/voetba...stvver-lee-na-aanslag-op-limbombe/2019/10/12/ Apparently, LSW was involved in a dirty tackle in a friendly a few days ago, and he's also not doing well in adapting. If only he worked on his attitude a bit...
Nothing wrong with his attitude. He needs to sort things out and figure out what his capabilities are as a football player.
With the fade of the #10 in modern football, he's gonna have to become a better crosser to facilitate from the wing. He hasn't shown enough as a finisher to play centrally in attack
I still think he's the only player we have that can (or dares) to beat his man in the middle. Something we need with 10 minutes to go, 1 goal down. Does he have his shortcomings? Yes - something that was acceptable when he was 18 but not so much now. But I refuse to believe that he's not even good enough for the bench.
There seems to be plenty of problems with his attitude. He was dismissed early from the team training for poor attitude before the squad for Anderlecht was announced. https://www.voetbalbelgie.be/voetbalnieuws/stvv-zit-met-probleem-lee/2019/10/19/
It's really too bad that he can't leave his attitude at home and just play the game. Just play the damn game.
That's an impossibility. In his mind, he still believes himself to be everything people thought he would become when he was a young teenager. The anger and bitterness he harbors at his current situation will guarantee he'll continue to have attitude issues. But no worries, he'll do a 180 as soon as he joins the Barca A team in the future.
https://www.voetbalbelgie.be/voetbalnieuws/brys-over-niet-selecties-lee/2019/10/28/ Brys, STVV’s manager, was asked about Lee during the post-match interview against Gent yesterday. He said that Lee is still adjusting to the environment + should challenge himself more and stop living in the past. To be fair to him, it has been a huge fall from grace when he was the big name in the Barcelona youth team, and it’s understandable that he can’t let go of his glory days. I guess he just needs to get over it and start anew.
Poor guy has over-sized head for his body. He's been living in a fantasy world. Reality is a lot different.
