Idk I never bothered to ask him.

That sell bath water chick has some shady ass history from what I’ve been reading.

Alot of his early finds/works were actually putting into action taking info from this forum into getting them in contact with coaches and people in the federation at the time...for that he gets credit and he took advantage becoming an intermidery/agent. But I have noticed that since certain people on this forum stopped doing the dirty work if finding talent and following them, he hasn't done as good of job finding new talent. He stopped posting here a whike ago byt he was definitely lurking...and time pretty much also proved that these guys formed in the United States are not that much better than guys who grew up inside of El Salvador.

Picon is doing a better job finding people because he doesn't take himself so seriously and players open up to more to fans than guys like Hugo who are agents and have a purpose besides making talent known to the world. He got suspended from Twitter because of the strict copyright rules that they have now. (Content ID found music from his old videos)

Yeah back there were three Legionarios twitter accounts active now only one remains and it’s semi active.

The issue I’ve run into is its rough getting info since very little apps post line-ups unless they play in the top flights of Europe. Heck even the Central American and some Asian leagues it’s quite annoying unless you can find the clubs twitter handles.

For lower leagues in other continents good luck especially for youngsters.

For Leon U20 the site interface for Liga MX was a hassle at times but it was one of the few that I could get info on similar with the Mexican 3rd-4th divisions web site when Jairo used to play their for his short stint.

Yeah I recall the first few years actually saw Salvadoran expats playing for ES youth levels thanks to Hugo’s initiative (Gian Tapia, Richard Menjivar, Marvin Baumgartner, Maikon Orellana, and Christian Rodriguez from the top of my head). Nowadays, the people he brings attention to aren’t good enough for ES or are just not interested.

The Pajaro Picon account, or another one?

They all have legionarios on their handles
with a variant of ES on it. One of the left behind accounts asked me if I wanted to help out so he would give me access to that account and provide updates I declined, instead I asked if he wanted to visit the forum so as to exchange info and the such and he declined in return.

I'm like a month late but here's a short break down of everyone on the squad. A lot of these guys have had previous experience with the u20 squad when Lara was in charge

Mario Gonzalez Martinez - He was the starter for like two seasons on a bad Firpo team that got relegated, but he still had plenty of notable performances. I would consider him the best GK prospect currently playing in the country. Signed with Santa Tecla this offseason so I don't expect him to play much with Pytuka Almeida there

Kevin Menjivar - RB who was previously with Turin, I believe he just signed with 11 Deportivo. He should get some game time since their squad is really lacking depth

Roberto Dominguez - regular starter at Tecla, then Fas. He's now back with Tecla. Pretty much a lock for the NT too

Luis Mendez - fairly regular starter with Limeno. He plays as a wingback there due to their system so he can easily fill in as LB or play more advanced. I don't think he'll have much competition for his spot so he should see a lot of minutes

Alexis Renderos - formerly with Turin, went to Alianza's reserves and played sparingly with the first team (a few league games and some cup). He just signed with Sonsonate but is an unproven commodity in the league so I don't see him getting much action

Fernando Castillo - I had such high hopes after that u20 UNCAF tourney in Panama a few yrs ago (along with Marcos Rodriguez) but injuries have slowed him down. He just left FAS for Aguila where he'll most likely continue to be used primarily as a sub. Carlos Romero hasn't really brought along on much youth at Aguila so it could be an uphill battle for Castillo

Andres Hernandez - as mentioned, he was with Tecla's reserves, went to River Plate and came back this season. I liked what I saw from him in central midfield but I don't see him getting any time with Tecla considering all the veteran players in they have in midfield

Bryan Paz - he's been tearing it up in reserves for the past few season with Aguila but it didn't lead to many opportunities with the first team. Switched over to FAS this season and he'll be more of a bench option as they'll start a Colombian and Bryan Gil over him.
Sidenote: we should nationalize Bryan Gil. He's been living in El Salvador for years since he was young with his dad playing there. He's only 18 and has been very impressive with FAS these first few games

Josue Rivera - sub used sparingly at FAS. Somehow he continues to get placed on these u-20/21/23 teams though

Kevin Reyes - he fluctuates between starter and substitute role. He's back at Santa Tecla after a brief loan spell with Aguila and this should be the season he consolidates himself as a starter if he wants to keep progressing. A positive is he can play on either wing so he should get plenty of minutes

Elmer Escobar - reserve player with Tecla who just got promoted to the first team. Don't see him getting any minutes tho

Ezequiel Rivas - probably the player with the most upside on the squad. Alianza is deep enough to where they can rotate almost the entire the squad against the weaker clubs so he'll get a good chunk of time, especially if they keep advancing in Concacaf League and the Copa Premier

Boris Morales - I really liked what I saw from him on loan with Chalatenango last season under Misael Alfaro. He's back with Alianza but unfortunately with so options in attack, his minutes will be very reduced. He should have stayed in Chalate on loan for another yr

Kevin Berrios - promoted to first team with Aguila, but again, they have a bunch of options at RB/CB where he plays and as I said above, Carlos Romero hasn't been too keen on incorporating the youth

Walter Chiguila - he played a lot last season as for Aguila as their manager opted to play with 2 holding midfielders. It's early goings, but this season Romero has opted to go with one and play a mixed next to the holding. He'll probably split a lot of time with Wilson Rugama this season

Isai Saravia - just signed with Independiente and I'm expecting him to see a fair amount of games

Marvin Aranda - behind Rivas, the player I'm most exited for. He burst on with FAS last season due to injuries and lack of fullbacks. He plays more advanced with club but Memo used him exclusively as a rightback, where he developed a good chemistry with Ezequiel. With Dustin gone he's sure to see an even bigger role this season for FAS

That's it for all the guys who play domestically, I think. I will say there a few omissions that are leaving me scratching my head. Centerback is a position we are very thin at so for the life of me, I can't figure out why Ronald Rodriguez of Aguila isn't getting called up. He's a 20 year old who's been a regular starter for a pair of seasons and was just part of a title winning team. My only guess is Aguila has refused to let him get called up. Rudy Clavel is another one. He can play both RB and CB. Another one is Gerardo Guirola, who plays LB with Metapan and is a lock as a starter week in week out. Aside from them, I'd give Marvin Marquez a shout. He's a first sub option at Metapan now but I'd take him over Josue Rivera any day. And one fringe player I've always like is Enrique Contreras. He was suppose to be the next big thing for Alianza but he never got a chance under Zarco, then went to Atletico Marte in segunda and is now with 11 Deportivo

Hey Guys, Hugo here. I just wanted to give you guys a quick update. I have very much remain active. I do a lot of work behind the cameras, I do not like to post things immediately on social media as I try my best to corroborate all information before I make anything public. A lot of people who post new players on their social media are getting it from me. I do remain very active on my facebook page as that's where I have the majority of my following (15K +). I'm also active on Twitter.

I do a lot of (volunteer) follow up work, that a lot of people don't know. Joaquin Rivas for example is a result of 2+ years of follow ups.

At the moment my most exciting finding is Enrico Hernandez (Salvadoran/Dutch/Finnish) currently plays for Vitesse in Holland U-19,U21 and has made a debut with the first team in a friendly a few weeks ago.) I stay in touch with him and we are making some advances in getting him to the NT. https://selectatalent.com/2019/07/2...n-futbolista-holandes-con-sangre-salvadorena/

Recently I posted about Jorey Garcia Dominican/Salvadoran Forward 1.82 ft who plays for hofstra University.

I have also posted about the multiple Salvadoran players in the DC united Reserve team (Loudon United). There is an interesting forward there Chirstian Sorto.

I have posted about Stanley Batres-Prado in Sweden.
    https://selectatalent.com/2019/03/14/stanley-batres-prado-hogaborgs-bk-suecia/

There are a number of players I'm researching in Sweden and Australia, soon I will post on my social media.

I'm not involved in Onfield Management for years now. Luckily I have really good relationships with players and stay in constant contact with them. I have not ruled out Zavaleta from TFC as I've had good conversations with him.

As far as the players in the 4th division in Spain. I don't talk much about it because I feel my job is to bring light to players that no body knows about. The major newspapers and journalists are making that information public. I hope they go up in the ranks as Spain's 3rd D in the 4th level.

I'm very active, doing the dirty work, just don't have as much time to post everything.

Also worth mentioning that after Selectatalent.com became a well knows site back in 2010, peoples expectations changed. They no longer care much about a college player, they want to know about players that are already consolidated in a pro league. This is hard to find.

Final note. I keep the Fed up to date with my findings.

Thanks for all your support all these years..
    -Hugo

So it looks like we will have a friendly match vs USA on the 15.

It’s going to be a real test to see what this team can do.

guys Keep an eye on (Junior) Herbert Chavez. Kid was a baller for FC Dallas Academy back a few years ago and now is playing college. I message Hugo about it but never got a reply. Had to message Carrillo to get this kid a looked, last two friendlies he has scored not sure how he did tonight against the US team.

Honestly? I think it shows where we stand on a soccer level. We’re not making any progress. This u23 oozes defensively and they’re gonna allow a lot of goals. I don’t see us making it far sadly. We had some decent talent but nothing special tbh i feel.

That was likely to happen anyway, but this actually gives us a chance to advance to the next round though.

I felt with Mex and the US seperate we had a chance to be able to play thru the group and get the weaker in the semi. Now i feel we will face Mex in the semi as second place (fingers crossed) and we’ll the chances are very slim for us there

To get the weaker team in the Semi we would had have to finish 1st in the group stage and that was already very Unlikely.

Seeing as Enrico Hernández of Vitesse U-19 has expressed interest in representing ES, and Brayan Gil Hurtado now a naturalised Salvadoran, both players could be included in the U-23’s road to Olympics 2020.

That 3rd division team that beat Real Madrid 4-0 in the Copa Del Rey.

We seem to have a few players in Spain atm. There’s also Marlon Menjivar at CD Roda, and three at UE Sant Andreu.
