He headed it onto the guys shoulder, it rebounded back onto his head and it bobbles across goal into the net. Bizzare.
Pastore playing pretty well today. Not getting stripped of the ball, and good distribution in the final 3rd. Cristante on the other hand not having a good game.
Kalinic already showing slight signs of petulance with his hand waving. This gimp is not going to win me over.
Game could go either way. We definitely look like a team with a bunch of subs out there. Wouldn't surprise me if we lose 2-1.
About what I expected. Picked up a point on the road without having to expend too much. We'll smash them at home.
With the other game ending 1:1, the group is very much open at htis point. Any of two the four teams can qualify. Borussia's point in Turkey could yet prove very handy at the end. I think a draw was the fair result tonight because us and Wolfsberger were too imprecise in attack to exploit some promising situations.
I think the thing that I really disliked about this game was how we reverted back to 11 guys all trying to do it themselves. Just a few more passes in possession and you pull them out of position. I fully understand this team is a work in progress but I really want to see them play Fonseca's style. I'd rather lose by misplaced passes and bad decision while you are learning rather than lose because everyone is doing their own thing.
A point away with the b team. Not too much to complain about the result considering they should have had a commanding lead if not for Mirante. The one goal we did give up was a great strike. Most importantly no serious injuries reported so far.
Playing beautiful football is not easy with the starting 11 never mind when you have to consider that it was a bunch of players who haven't played together against a plucky side full of pride. A point away in those circumstances is a good thing. Today was not an issue when you look at the whole picture.
No I'm not upset with the result or that we didn't play beautiful football. I'm just disappointed they started out playing without form. Overall I'm ok with the result, I just wanted to see a bit more passing and a lot less individualism
I'm glad that my first match thread led this team towards representing Serie A with the pride, honor and dignity it deserves. One small point for Roma, one big coefficient leap towards 2nd pot and unending CL glory( at some point in the next score of years)!
I have watched it back again. I think there was quite a lot of good build up play, in particular pastore and Zaniolo in the first half. There was a few moments that did result in players going for a quick shot themselves but it didn't seem too bad. More a combination of our second string perhaps gassing a little as the match wore on and a very physical hard working side putting it to them who were also buzzing after that equaliser. With that said, we still had 2 or 3 big chances in the second half from well worked moves. So I'm not entirely sure what you're getting at regards a lack of form from us.
We dominated the game but Wolfsberger deserved a point for their efforts. It was a performance from us littered with mistakes in possession which made for unsatisfying viewing. That was disappointing, the result itself is no biggie.
This game was an excellent example as to why we barely rest dzeko and Kolarov... and pastore was dreadful on the final ball
