Really poor from Eden, LV, TC and Modric. This result makes it really tricky for us to progress from the group. On paper this should have been the easiest match for us. We have to find a way to attack through the middle; cannot rely on headers bailing us out all the time. Our build up is very predictable at the moment. Also I think as @Eddie pointed it out, when we look to attack, we get really exposed in transitions - one or two passes completely bypasses the midfield. The last 3 games I think we focused on defensive shape and didn't look to bad. But today we were really exposed. Didn't fully understand the Marcelo sub. Could have shored up the midfield or added Jovic. Midfield looked spent around the 65' min mark. Modric's mistake cost us in the end.
I know we all know this, but we shouldn’t have sold Ronaldo. It’s like this team forgot how to score goals after he left. We used to put 5 goals past teams like Brugge and Ajax. Everything went to shit after he left. Sure, we got 100 million for him, but so what ? What did we do with it ? Absolutely nothing. Hazard, even at his best, won’t come anywhere near Ronaldo’s level for us. Ronaldo at 34 will still be one of the best scorers in the world and two times better than our other forwards. We should have just given the man his new contract and raise and be done with it, if anyone deserved it, it was him. We should have just used him for as long as we could.
I want to add Modric and Kroos were fed siters right at the edge of the box, multiple times, they couldn't get the ball on target. Embarrassing finishing.

It would have been the first time EVER that we lost our first 2 group games in the CL. I'm still not happy or pleased or ok with the draw though, even though we came back from 0-2. This is a horrible result considering our opponent.

Kroos missed 2 sitters - Modric missed 1. Courtois is the scapegoat. Not that he doesn't deserve it. But why wait until shit hit the fan then made that decision? He should never been a # 1 to begin with. Terrible management skill.
Tonis was more like passes. He tried to pass it with his left and right, not sure why he doesn’t put some power in it especially since he has a good shot on him. You are right tho that he got into the position to do so but the execution was poor.
This illusory, delusional idea that we need the 3rd or 4th best player in the world and the confirmation bias that we need him, so "Real Madrid always gets their man" even if it means that the opportunity cost is staggeringly high.
