Is it the first time a NT of Uganda wins anything meaningful?

Yeah, for WNTs it seems to be the first.

Both of the Cosafa youth tournaments are now held by east African guest nations (from the Cecafa group).

Uganda's Crested Cranes were the women's runners-up in Cecafa last year.

[IMG] [IMG] A very good match report on the final, at St. François Xavier Stadium in Port Louis:

"COSAFA: Uganda beat S.Africa to win inaugural title", by Joseph Kizza
    - https://www.newvision.co.ug/new_vision/news/1507739/cosafa-uganda-beat-safrica-win-inaugural-title (Archived)
Captain Juliet Nalukenge wins the Golden Boot award while teammate and goalkeeper Daphine Nyayenga receives the Golden Glove award.

And a few seconds of the post-match jubilation, with a few words from the winning coach, Ayub Khalifa, in Swahili(?). (He speaks English too).
