I went to the Notre Dame vs Pitt game yesterday in South Bend, Randy Waldrum's return to the place he coached for 14 years and won two NCAA National Championships..

    ND won 4-0.

Brought back many memories for me seeing Waldrum on the bench. I used to go to almost every Irish home game and many away during Randy's tenure at ND. I was a big fan, still am just don't have the time to drive from Chicago to South bend every Sunday like I used to.

Duke gets a draw (0-0) with #1 UVA!

Good result for Duke, prob frustrating for the Cavs as they outshot Duke 18-6. But that’s soccer.

Reminds me of when Duke was loaded in 2016, and outshot unc like 30-5, but still settled for a 0-0 draw. Unc was somewhat “down” that year, but ended up surprising and getting into the college cup. So maybe Duke can be that team this year! :)

Well, Clemson looks to be much better than they were last year, as they lost to Carolina 1 - 0 in the new Dorrance Field. Much more skilled on the ball and decent pace, but as we all know, Carolina can make anyone look slow.

North Carolina? Well, they're good. As they've ever been. Clemson came out each half determined to play at Carolina speed, and they did, as long until they got tired and Carolina was able to run in numerous subs. Carolina was fortunate on the night that Clemson is as poor with the through ball as Virginia is. Lots of wasted pasted by the Tigers.

And as ever, Carolina are a whiny team. Every foul, a Carolina player's hands up, "Not me, ref, not me." The perpetual Tim Duncan of women's soccer.

Did Andrewzjeski change her number? Was she really #4 last year?

Man crazy night in the ACC Tonight

Pitt snaps a 1096 day ACC losing streak taking down Boston College in OT 2-1 and Syracuse takes down Wake Forest with the same scoreline!

Duke battled hard tonight, tied unc 0-0. (That’s THREE STRAIGHT 0-0 draws!). I actually thought we had the more dangerous opportunities, even if those opps sometimes didn’t end in a shot (Stevens perfect feed to Boade I thought for sure was the game winner, sadly it wasn’t). While Duke should be credited for being battle tough, sadly news of Sophie Jones tearing her ACL is heartbreaking. Then, in this game, Mia Gyau looked like her season might be done (that’ll be THE THIRD STRAIGHT YEAR with a season ending injury...man she has horrible luck). Duke wasn’t deep before this news, and they just got thinner (YIKES!) Good thing most of these players are fit enough to play all 110 minutes if needed, cuz their season might come down to pks, lol

Good for Pitt and Syracuse for getting conference wins, and not aginst each other! Syracuse has Miami at home next, which is totally winnable, but Clemson, NC State, Duke, and Virginia after that. Still, if they get two conference wins, that's a nice upgrade.

Pitt might be able to beat a shaky Wake Forest to also get a second conference win.

Ugh. This whole ACCN is killing me. My cable doesn’t carry it. Last year I had carte Blanche access and watched at least one game every match day. This blows

I switched to youtubetv. Cheaper and get access to ACCN. Win/win.
I kept my cable for internet access only. Can't beat the speed.

like any other subjective list. its one persons opinion based on what they see/value. What part of it do you disagree with?

More importantly, does it matter? These lists are just put out to sell subscriptions. Take them with a pinch of salt

Only a few weeks left in the season and we've already seen in incredible number of draws in league play, especially when compared to last year. This is going to make ACC tournament qualifying particularly interesting. Clemson finds themselves the last ones in at this point. VA Tech, Boston College and Wake Forest all have a lot of work to do. Clemson has an incredibly favorable schedule ahead so should be fine (Syracuse, Miami, Pitt and BC). BC probably has the toughest road ahead (UNC, UVA, Va Tech and Clemson). Wake is in danger of not finishing above .500 (and therefore ineligible for NCAAs). NC State could also be in danger of that as well.

In my opinion NC States season comes down to their game against Pitt and Syracuse. Pitt and Syracuse have a chance to play spoiler. If either one can pull a draw or an upset I think that will keep NC State out of the NCAA Tournament. If I was betting I say they end up in the tournament.

Clemson will should win their next 4 games and easily make the ACC tournament

I don't think Boston College will win any of those 4 remaining games. If they do it may be the VA Tech game just because of the injuries to tech.

Wake losing to Syracuse ended their post season hopes in my eyes.

Major dark horse here (im being a homer**) Could Pitt sneak in as the 8th seed? Team is playing confidently. I think they might be able to pull off a win at Wake. if they could somehow pull a draw from NC State or Clemson (unlikely) then their season finale against VT could be winner is in as the 8th seed. Has a team ever made the ACC tournament but missed the NCAA tournament? would be the case with Pitt as they won't be eligible for the NCAA's

NC State and Wake Forest could still have strong enough RPIs (and strong strengths of schedule). Losing to Syracuse was not good for Wake and if NC State loses to either Syracuse or Pitt it won't be good for them either, but they won't be completely out from a numbers perspective. But they would be bad Ls in any bubble conversations. We'll see if Pitt and Syracuse are able to play spoiler for anyone else this year. Wake definitely needs a statement result against Va Tech or FSU and can't get caught looking past Pitt.

I currently have Wake, BC, Pitt, Miami, and Syracuse not in the tournament; and all the others in. Pretty much a standard year as things have been going.

I find myself agreeing with 007 more and more this year. 007 must be getting smarter this year;):ROFLMAO:

Awards and rankings are flawed to be sure.
FSU was not well enough represented last year IMO.
    This year, too much.
For FSU to have 4 All ACC pre season 1st teamers and UVA to have none is ludicrous.
Likewise, a star player on a lesser team will pile up stats in the regular season to earn post season ACC and maybe even AA honors.
That same person on UVA, UNC or FSU would put up 1/2 of those numbers and be better, but maybe not get the recognition.
Sam Coffey last year was BC. Her numbers made her worthy of MFer of the year.
12 goals and 14 assists. This year at PSU, over 3/4s the way through the year, she has 4 goals and 5 assists. Good numbers, but they pale in comparison to last year. Why? At least part of the reason is PSU has more options than BC had.
Great teams (sans Macario at Stanford) don't often have one person dominating the stats.

This year I think Berkely, Howell, Castellanos and Pavlisko are all worthy of 1st or 2nd team All ACC. Yujie and Jenna maybe 3rd team. Yet UVA wupped us.
    What does that say?

Subjective for sure. Some coaches seem to have a lot of pull. The most shocking ACC decision was not Coffey. It was Russo.

As far as PSU/Coffey goes, it may be more options but it could be a tougher schedule or many other things.

UVA will not be well represented in EoY awards and if they are, it will be the wrong players for sure.

interesting week in the ACC. I actually like it when they have the 1 off weeks and the teams all play on different days. gives you a good chance to actually watch everyone. half way through this game week we've seen.

    North Carolina - 3
    Boston College - 0
Carolina takes control of first place in the ACC and had a pretty comfortable win over Boston College. BC had a few decent looks but just couldn't finish. Boston College is one of the surprise teams for me sitting near the bottom of the ACC. Probably going to miss the ACC Tournament

    Louisville - 1
    Duke - 1
Surprise Surprise Duke tied a game. . .Louisville dominated the game and will feel unlucky to only get 1 point from this game

    Florida State - 3
    Miami - 0
Florida State gets revenge on Miami for the upset last year. Easy comfortable win for Florida State. FSU has everything to play for as they play North Carolina on Thursday!

    Virginia Tech - 1
    Wake Forest - 0
Wake Forest still hasn't won a game in the ACC sitting at the bottom of the league. Virginia Tech dominated this game and gets back in the win column in ACC play for the first time in almost a month. Virginia Tech should be favorites in 2 of their next 3 games. Wake Forest did have 1 great opportunity off a set piece that the VT gk pulled out of the corner. Big time save to preserve the win for the Hokies.

Coming up today you have 2 games that have big time implications on the ACC Tournament.
Pitt vs NC State and then Clemson vs Syracuse.
NC State and Clemson will both be looking to separate themselves on points from the normal bottom dwellers of Pitt and Syracuse.

Staude certainly doesn't seem to deserve an 11 rating, based on what I've seen this year--and I've seen a few UVA games. More like carryover from her recruiting ranking--which is common. That said, yea, it's not worthwhile getting too worked up about lists like this.
