The last home game of the season and, likely, the last MLS home game ever in Bridgeview. The Fire have been good at home, 8-6-2 (WTL), racking up 30 of their 38 points at home. Toronto has guaranteed a playoff spot, and comes in at 4-6-6 on the road. This is absolute, positive must win, if the Fire have any hope in hell of making the postseason. The recent self destruction of New England has given the Fire an outside chance of passing the Revolution. New England are 4 points ahead, with each having 2 games remaining. New England are home against NYCFC tomorrow. Montreal are home against Atlanta tomorrow. New England: 42 points now. Maximum 48. Fire: 38 points. Maximum point total: 44. Montreal: 37 points. Maximum point total: 43. If New England win tomorrow, the Fire are out, regardless. If New England tie both of their remaining games, and the Fire win out, Fire go through. If New England fail to win and the Fire win and tie, Fire go through (but could lose out to Montreal who are 1 point behind the Fire ). If the Fire and New England (and Montreal) end up tied on points: First tie breaker would be number of wins (Montreal would go through, they have 11 wins, to New England's 10 and the Fire have 9). Second tie breaker is differential. The Fire have +5, with New England at -7 and Montreal an astounding -16. Regardless of the playoff implications, it would be nice to end the Bridgeview Era with a comprehensive win.
I will unfortunately not be there tomorrow. My dad's brother passed away mowing his lawn in the UP a few weeks ago. So I'm up here taking in docks in the 50 degree weather. Have a bunch of malort shots for me.
Not likely, it will be the last home game ever in Bridgeview. Because if we do make the playoffs it will be as the 7th seed, with the new playoff format means no home games in the playoffs. The only way there will be another home game in Bridgeview is if the SF thing falls apart. FYP that's 63% of the points, slightly above average. I'm hoping for a win against Toronto and New England tie NYCFC and will go down to the last game of the year. but, I think we tie Toronto and New England ties NYCFC and the season ends tomorrow. and Let the rebuilding begin, BYE BYE Nelson, BYE BYE Pauno, BYE BYE all of NRod's hires and BYE BYE all of Pauno's hires.
I agree that there will probably not be another home MLS game in Bridgeview (and they can't have one this year). I have heard that they might consider US Open Cup games there, though. The Fire do not have 48 points. They have 38 points from 32 games.
Sorry, I see what you mean. You are, of course, correct about that. I meant 30 out of our 38 total points this season were achieved at home.
Maybe we'll play our USOC games in small stadiums around the city. UIC:https://www.google.com/maps/uv?hl=e...UKEwjDh7is1fTkAhUOWa0KHRhPCQcQoiowG3oECBAQBg# or Northwestern:https://www.google.com/imgres?imgur...2ahUKEwi0iL_A1fTkAhVDY60KHQx_BMoQMygEegQIARBB Yeah it's turf. I worked in that building (Kellogg School of Management)
I know we will train at Bridgeview for at least the next 5 years, but this place would have been pretty cool place to train at.
Members of the first ever Fire roster to play at Bridgeview, including Logan Pause and Gonzalo Segares, will be in attendance at the final home game of the season against Toronto on Sunday 29th September. The players will be honored on the field pre-game. Is this Ring of Fire?
I think I might go. Not because I want to but because it's the last game at Toyota Park and I don't need to drive. Even with free ride not sure I want to spend money on watching game. Anyone want to barter?
I am going with my Dad and a nephew. Hoping for a good win but think it will be a tie. Would be good to see Sega recognized some. I also worry..raccoon will show up at SF next year. Go Fire!
Honestly a tie would be a more fitting end for the Chicago Fire's time in Bridgeview. As my mom says "We're Fire cause we tie"
The facility looks beautiful. However, the guy put ketchup on his breakfast potatoes. Gross. Not a deal breaker on its own about training there (I guess that would be ketchup on a hot dog), but that's nasty.
When I have eggs & hash browns I'll put ketchup, sriracha, or ranchera on the eggs and something of the same, but different from the first on my potatoes. But I never, ever put ketchup on hot dogs. However Jiggs . . .
I have a confession to make. As a child when my father would take me to Cubs games and my options were plane hotdogs or putting a pack of a catchup on it I chose the catchup. I'm pretty sure they must have had mustard packs back then but, I was young and dumb.
I can literally hitch a ride with someone going the same way and I could probably trade something I have extra of for a ticket but, still not sure I want to spend my Sunday in Bridgeview. I think I'll see yall at soldier field in April
If the land were available nearby, U Of C could build something like that with the help of a certain professional soccer team owner who happens to be an alumni. He already paid for their new Helmut Jahn designed library.
