That has been my position all along. This idea that fans can insult players to throw them off is part of the game should not be. It was also the message the Inter Curva Nord sent, telling Lukaku that the Cagliari fan meant no harm, they just were trying to get him to miss the PK, which is the truth. I read today that a Sampdoria fan has a two-year ban for making a Superga gesture against Torino. It seems far fetched but let's apply that across the board. Getting into this racism campaign is not getting anyone anywhere.

Why? Is discrimination a one way street? The broad definition of racism today is a disservice to anyone who was truly discriminated in the past regardless of color, ethnicity or belief.

 

White guys aren't experts on racism anymore, despite the biggest racist event in the history of the world being executed by white guys vs white guys( WWII). Now only POCs and SJWs know what racism and nazi is, despite them usually being the least experienced or educated part of the societies they live in.

From knowledge is power to ignorance is power.

 

I wish this discussion was moved to a different thread where people that are interested can continue to discuss. This would let others decide if they want to go to that thread and continue reading and contributing to the discussion. I think the majority of us here think this is a real problem and it needs to be addressed. We aren't going to solve it here and the pages and pages of the same cycle of posts is annoying and detracts from what this thread is meant to discuss.
