ZACK STEFFEN AGAIN 🛑"That's one of the saves of the season." #BMGF95 pic.twitter.com/RKbUuJ5C9z— FOX Soccer (@FOXSoccer) September 22, 2019
Makes Kicker's team of the week (got a rating of 1.5) for the second time this season. https://www.kicker.de/1-bundesliga/elf-des-tages He's tied for the third highest average rating in the Bundesliga so far this season. https://www.kicker.de/1-bundesliga/topspieler/2019-20/5 If he keeps this up, it's not hard to imagine that bigger clubs will come in with offers for Man City.
Keeper is the single most important position on the field, as anyone who watched Shaolin Soccer knows.
Even in defeat, Zack Steffen shines.@AlexiLalas and @JoyPaulian break down how the @USMNT's No. 1 has fared so far in the @Bundesliga_EN. #AmerikanerAbroad 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/DOF47ZMqrn— FOX Soccer (@FOXSoccer) September 23, 2019
They're calling him Zack instead of Steffen in the Fortuna forums already. He keeps like this, he'll earn the Zaki.
Well even the USMNT media account hold Kicker's ratings in such high regard to post about it on Instagram
Idk that was 92/93... 26 years ago... I'm sure some of the fossils around here can remember but I was 1 -2 years old.
Keller > Friedel > Meola = Howard > Guzan Our top guys right now look like may have a ceiling between Howard and Guzan, IMO.
I watched the entire game this weekend and Steffen was completely let down by his D. Point blank shot after point blank shot. It was kind of silly. He made some absolutely unreal saves but there is only so much you can do.
uhhh... sorry for off topic, but Keller was never better than Friedel... Brad single-handedly kept Blackburn in the PL for multiple years. And i'm not talking, "oh, he's team MVP" I'm talking without Friedel Blackburn would have been league one. Anyway, glad to see Zack taking his opportunity and impressing.
No exaggeration. I remember seeing him play at the Bridge a few times when they played Chelsea, and he was the only reason it wasn't a cricket score on several occasions.
There has to be a record for the number of times a GK on a losing team makes TOTW. And Zack is going to break it.
Just hope he can avoid emulating Guzan after Villa started to sink further and further and suddenly folks forgot his 2012-13 season and only remember him for the 15-16 relegation season.
Keller and Friedel were just an embarrassment of riches. We got spoiled. Brad had the box command and wing-span, Keller the intensity and reflexes. I'd take either now, yesterday, tomorrow (except the distribution - never awesome for either.) Zack seizing the moment is very exciting as well. He could lead the league in saves and still end up bottom of the table. That D is... ouch.
i guess thats the silver lining of this being a loan- a keeper being the best player on your team is great...for a while. keep having standout games, keep em up- then get out and go to a real team.
