Personally, I would not be so sure. Barr is a disgusting creature. The sycophants in the Administration are, well, sycophants. Their jobs all depend on kissing ass for Trump. The Supreme Court is a different story. 1) Roberts is not a "friend" of Trump's and he still seems at least mildly concerned about the legacy of the Supreme Court. If he switches, the Court goes 5-4. 2) Gorsuch (how soon he has been forgotten) and Kavanaugh have nothing to fear from going against Trump on something blatant, other than nasty tweets. Plus, I would suspect if they are "true" conservatives, they would look at the rule of law and their futures when ruling. And, frankly, they probably don't like him much, either. I know, take that shit to an "Optimism Thread" somewhere on BigSoccer.
True, but wait until he really gets put into an untenable position, then he might start something as a distraction, that being said with all the sh*t Trump has done, will he ever be put into a untenable position in the eyes of his precious base?
How is it that the US military purchased 650 nights at Trump's scotland golf resort on great General Mattis's watch? I wonder if anyone will ever ask him
Roberts is definately concerned with the legacy, both his and the SC. Kavanaugh is more likely to side with Individual One. There is something about Gorsuch I caught recently which makes me think he might rule in favor of the SC and with Roberts over ruling with Individual One.
At some point, we need to accept that "moderate" Republicans are not going to save us. That ship has sailed.
Trump was played by Netanyahu? REALLY??? How could that be? Netanyahu is "a bit Machiavellian"? NO WAY!! Tillerson Says Trump Was ‘Played’ by Netanyahu Former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said that President Trump was “played” by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on several occasions, Haaretz reports. Tillerson said that Netanyahu is “an extraordinarily skilled” politician and diplomat, but “a bit Machiavellian.” He recounted how Netanyahu would use “misinformation” to persuade the U.S. when he deemed it necessary. Explained Tillerson: “They did that with the president on a couple of occasions, to persuade him that ‘We’re the good guys, they’re the bad guys.’ We later exposed it to the president so he understood, ‘You’ve been played.’ It bothers me that an ally that’s that close and important to us would do that to us.”
Interesting piece in Politico, which I haven't finished yet so it may be a total POS. https://www.politico.com/story/2019/09/19/trump-presidency-aides-white-house-1502041 The China trade war, talks with the Taliban, the response to Iran after Saudi attacks, gun control, new tax legislation and a long list of other policy issues are up in the air and awaiting decisions from President Donald Trump — and him alone — heading into the 2020 election season. In many ways, it’s the presidency Trump has always wanted. He’s at the center of the action. He’s fully in command. And he’s keeping world leaders on edge and unsure of his next moves, all without being hemmed in by aides or the traditional strictures of a White House. After four national security advisers, three chiefs of staff, three directors of oval office operations and five communications directors, the president is now finding the White House finally functions in a way that fits his personality. Trump doubters have largely been ousted, leaving supporters to cheer him on and execute his directives with fewer constraints than ever before. “It is a government of one in the same way in which the Trump Organization was a company of one,” said a former senior administration official. Can't comment on the validity of this take, but it looks plausible.
Who said again that the military brass wouldn't take Dotard's side if he refuses to step down? That's an all-time classic post
Guys Don't be shocked - but Trump tried to conspire with a foreign power to jigger the 2020 election If this actually happened, @realDonaldTrump should be impeached and removed from office without delay. https://t.co/WkiA3yXPEx— George Conway (@gtconway3d) September 19, 2019
So there we have it 19 September 2019 was the day we finally got the smoking gun everyone has been demanding - despite his corruption and criminality being bang obvious Man, every time the President cuts a deal with a foreign government to give them $250 billion in aid if only they'll give up information on Joe Biden I can just feel the economic anxiety going out of the air.— Rick Wilson (@TheRickWilson) September 19, 2019
More to the story.....shit is hitting the roof! In our mock election in high school, John Anderson came in second. Jimmie Carter was, sadly, a distant third.
