Wéverton, Ivan; Daniel Alves, Fagner; Marquinhos, Thiago Silva, Éder Militão, Casemiro, Arthur, Allan, Lucas Paquetá, Philippe Coutinho, David Neres, Roberto Firmino. These 14 of 23 from the Copa América roster were capped. Continuity while testing a few names. Jorge from Santos is back - did he get any playing time although he was capped during 2018 WCQ? I gotta say I never heard of Samir. And of course, Neymar is back. Love him or hate him, he's still one of Brazil's most important offensive options. We won the Copa América without him, but we will need him during 2022 WCQ and given all the drama at PSG (whatever one thinks of his behavior), it's better to keep him match fit.
The reaction from people today was hysterical. I liked it but also my guys got called. Palmeiras fans in meltdown mode about dudu being left off. I understand the sentiment when you compare his 2 years to bh but I think bh is better and has more potential so no problem with it
Happy to see VJ in there, about time. I must say, I have never seen a player from Serie B being called (Ponte Preta), and some of these names are so obscure. Hard to call the best when Copa do Brasil is in final stages. Ridiculous playing Peru and Columbia, AGAIN ! We get nothing out of it. Can't we arrange any European selecoes, come on!
I agree with you in theory - it is always interesting to see Brazil against the best UEFA has to offer. But it's not that simple. During the Tite Era, Brazil only faced a European team in November 2017 - England. And that was after WCQ had already ended. I doubt it was because CBF didn't try, but UEFA squads were busy with their own WCQ and friendlies wouldn't have been a priority for them. For us it became easier towards the end as Brazil was the first-ranked team after the victory vs. Uruguay and we never looked back. For September 2019, the day before Brazil plays Peru is a match date on which Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Denmark, and Norway play EURO 2020 qualification matches. On Sep. 6 - the day of Brazil vs. Peru - Germany, Netherlands, Croatia, and Belgium (among others, but I picked for this post the better, more competitive squads) will play their own EURO 2020 qualification matches. On the 9th, Netherlands, Germany, Croatia, Belgium and Russia (among others) return to the pitch for more EURO 2020 qualification. And on the 10th - when Brazil faces Colombia - England, Czech Republic, Portugal, and France (among others) will play for points towards a berth in next year's European continental tournament. In other words, the 5 teams from UEFA who have won the World Cup, the 2016 European Championship winner, the runner-up from 2018, and the team who eliminated Brazil in Russia are all unavailable. The very same is all but guaranteed to happen in October and in November: Matchday 7: 10-12 October 2019 Matchday 8: 13-15 October 2019 Matchday 9: 14-16 November 2019 Matchday 10: 17-19 November 2019 Peru and Colombia are not Germany and France, but they're better and far more difficult than Honduras or Andorra or Vietnam or Luxembourg.
This is kind of a shame, because I think at this point, Brazil is quite clearly in a different tier than the rest of South America. We need to be playing Europe's top teams at least once or twice a year.
Tite practiced with: Ederson, Daniel Alves, Marquinhos, Thiago Silva, Alex Sandro; Casemiro, Arthur, Coutinho; Richarlison, Neymar, Firmino. Looks like he is dropping the 2nd volante. Looks like a 4-1-3-2 ? ----------- Casemiro ---------- Coutinho -- Arthur -- Neymar Richarlison --- Firmino Or maybe a 4-3-3. Arthur ---- Casemiro ---- Coutinho Richarlison -- Firmino -- Neymar
I brought my ticket for today game but I don’t know if I will be able to watch the other one since the other one is not close to where I live
I imagine it's probably $20. Gonna order it on PPV at my friend's tonight. Something to do on a Friday night. Might be able to stream the game from the Globo site if you're behind a VPN. I've been able to stream the Tite press conferences and it's worked.
Alex Sandro is not pushing up when he has a chance to. He needs to push up when Neymar pinches in the middle.
