[Let's go to Sports Seoul] Can Lee Kang-in (18, Valencia) make his debut in September A match?

Lee Kang-in has had a lot of work for five months since he was first called to the national team in March. In May, he competed in the U-20 World Cup in Poland, where he led the Korean runner-up and won the Golden Ball for the best player of the tournament. For a moment, the stock price soared and enjoyed the joy of becoming a national star. Lee Kang-in made a move to a team that could play well, but he was stranded by the affection of Valencia owner Peter Lim. There is a possibility of a transfer, but Valencia remains strong.

Lee Kang-in, who spent half a year in a twist, is now waiting for the A-match entry in September. Lee Kang-in expected an A-match debut at his convocation in March, but it was not successful. Paulo Bento's coach did not give Lee Kang-in a chance to play. In June, he failed to join the A-team against the U-20 World Cup. Given Kang Bento's character, Lee is likely to have a chance in September. Bentu has a set of rules for dealing with prospects and new faces. Once I watched the training, I decided to give it time to play slowly. This can be seen in the cases of Lee Seung-woo and Baek Seung-ho. Baek Seung-ho couldn't even sit on the bench in March, but he made a big eye in the A match in June. As Bento is already highly valued by Lee Kang-in, there is a good chance that he will call the World Cup 2nd qualifying round and check his skills again.

Marcelino is going to be gone soon, we'll see if he finishes the season, but his contracts ends in June and Lim is not not going even to offer him a new contract, the whole situation is a mess and right now there's 2 Valencia's, the one in Valencia with Alemany and Marcelino and the one in Singapore with Lim, and no one knows what will happen.

Marcelino is not a "club coach" so even if the club has an owner who bought the club and can do whatever he wants, Marcelino in the long term is not going to accept some major things so the relationship right now is broken 100% and we'll see what happens on September 2, because Marcelino wants Rafinha and a good striker if Rodrigo leaves, and right now there's 0 movement in 2 cases...

P.S About tomorrow's game, the logical Soler's replacement should be Ferran, but who knows...but I think Kangin has high chances to play

Either case if he finishes the season or not, Lee should be loaned out to get him playing time until the manager's situation is settled

Best case scenario is Kangin going on loan this season and this being Marcelino’s last season. :p

I wouldn’t bet on Kangin playing in the September friendly or qualification match but I do hope he can get his first cap on the senior team soon.

They were lacking a lot in the attack. I think Kangin would’ve contributed a lot in this area had he been brought on. It is what it is.

    Same old story.

Is there really no one in Kangin’s circle that can knock some sense into him? Seriously, just get out of Valencia and don’t look back.

At least Marcelino will be gone. Hopefully they'll find a new coach that's willing to start him.

Unfortunately, Cristiano Piccini (right back) is out with a knee injury for the next 5-6 months. I’m very sad for him and hope he recovers quickly but like with Soler’s injury, this may give Kangin more opportunities to play. For the next match against RCD Mallorca, surely Wass will move back instead of being the right winger like he was versus Celta? Ferran will be the starter there and Kangin can come on as a substitute in the 2nd half...

This is what I hope will happen (and should happen) but I won’t be surprised if Marcelino goes a different way. For me, if Kangin can’t even get 1 minute of playing time on Sunday, it’s really not looking good for him.

On another note, I’m optimistic he’ll at least get some minutes in the friendly against Georgia. I only see Bento maybe letting him play in the qualifier if he does well in the first match.

Valencia signed a 20yo fullback for 15m to fill their hole in the depth chart.

Not helpful for LKI's playing tume
