Half this board before - Bruno Peres won’t be much better than Florenzi.

Half the board thought he could be better.

So obviously to some people, that meant everyone on here was enamored with Peres. People “remember” whatever they feel like to fit their post. I’ll call it Matrim’s “selective memory mentality” since we’re making up terms now.

Florenzi is going nowhere because of his big contract, not because he’s a lockdown RB who’s wanted by many.

Why has he been a starter all these years? Because we’ve been a disaster at RB for years. Peres being Peres and Karl injured the entire time. Just because we made bad decisions at RB doesn’t mean Florenzi is great.

And I was here before you. Funny you forget about Vucinic, Burdisso, and Juan. That’s just from that era.

Florenzi is our RB because he is Roman and because he isn't a starter at Roma at any other position. I am sorry but it is true. If Florenzi was French or Argentinian or even an Italian who wasn't Roman, he wouldn't be a regular starter. He is not good enough as a winger and he isn't good enough as a central midfielder. The only place multiple coaches have found for him is at RB. He could of actually been a decent RB if he ever learned to cross.

You want me to pull up the clips of him getting skinned by Higuain or the Mexican player from Porto?

Short term, low risk option. Are one of our defenders leaving? I was hoping Cetin would get some time this season.

Even Koulibaly and Ramos have bad plays, fact is Manolas is a monster with awful technical ability. Maybe that will fcuk him over, maybe it will be hidden beside Koulibaly, time will tell

I'm pretty sure that at least 80% of people were having a meltdown each time someone re-posted one of his goals vs Juve pre his transfer here. My memory is selective in the manner that I like to call people out on their hype later on, so I better remember when the hype happened.

Nope. His big contract is a result of him staying here and not the other way around. Your argument would've been valid if we didn't chase De Rossi out of Roma like a mangy dog just a few months back. Pallotta knows the difference between appearing Roman-riendly when it's for free, and when it costs 4mil+ per year. He's proven his stance on the matter on two occassions already.

Again - I've never ever said that Florenzi is a great RB. He is decent for top 4 fighting Roma. Could we do better? Definitely. Could we afford to do better? Maybe. Have we done better despite bringing in multiple guys people here liked more than Florenzi and then losing money on them? Nope. Time and time again.

    1. If we could've gotten someone better with money - I would've been on board.
    2. If Zapacosta was on load + option to buy, I would've been on board.

When you loan an apartment, you don't change the door and flooring for free. When you loan a player without a buy-out you don't put your eggs in his basket and devaluate your own players in the process.

We aren't rich enough to make free money for Chelsea or Manchester United.

It's so simple, it's painful that I have to explain it.

So yeah - stop shitting on Florenzi.

I'm decent enough not to shit on that donkey Perrotti, who's coefficient of usable effort is far less than Florenzi's.

Matrim, Florenzi’s situation is nothing like 36 year old De Rossi and almost 40 year old Totti. Come on man.

100% of people creamed when Bruno scored vs Juve...because we all hate Juve  but the board was split on whether he’d be an actual improvement.

Florenzi keeps getting put at RB because that’s where he does us less damage. We can’t field him at RW or in midfield. He’s a nice boy, doesn’t cause problems, is Roman, and was renewed after his Barca goal. He’s also a good teammate. That’s why he’s still here.

    Whatever.

The fact is - the only 2 positions where I'm truly confident in our players are Under and Zaniolo up-front.

Everything else is questionable, and it should've been that way.

Again - Florenzi might not be perfect, but active Florenzi who's sellable or playable after the end of this season would be much more useful for Roma's long-term situation than Zappacosta exploding and leaving us with out of form Florenzi and no one on RB 9 months from now. Bald DS Masterclass.

Nobody is arguing for or against any DS man, least not me lol.

Bringing up apartments, zoning, housing or tax laws is irrelevant to all this.

Exactly, how could you put him ahead of a very talented player we just got rid off because he spent a year eating chocolate and playing fortnite to 4am 7 days a week.

Yes, Juan was great for us when healthy. Burdissi was great his first season and then the board began bitching about him. Vucinic played well, moved to Juve and then what?

The only world class players we had/were linked to that actually reached that potential and were/would have been game changers for us were Salah, who we got, and Tevez who we didn't.

People wanted Che Miccoli to bring us a scudetto, remember? Or Huntelaar was going to bring us glory.
