What a crock of sht loss honestly.

We need a new goalkeeper, period. Should have had a clear as day penalty in the first half. Just all bad.

Need Espinoza to get the attack working. Both Wondo and Hoessen have looked off in the few games. For all the shots we have had over the last few games the scoring percentage is low.

The new guy Fiero looks like a bust and the other new guy already is injured.

Second game in a row the Quakes blew a ton of first half chances and paid for it.

Not the reason for losing but reffing not good.

that sucked. losing to that Crap team.
but playing at that altitude is always a problem i think. if you don't get a lead in the first half, no matter how in shape you are, you will feel it in the second half and your energy will drop.
    ugh.

Couldn't finish. again..our Dmid defensive cover in front of our back line was as bad as I've seen all season. We're going to need an engaged Godoy to keep from dropping points...we're too soft...really poor play by Judson on the first goal and Felipe on the second...can't run yourself out of the area at the top of the box...and give up and uncontested shot like that...really really poor.

Hopefully it is just a fitness issue with Fiero...

Fiero looked god awful. Just stood around off the ball and gave zero defensive effort.

Kaisha needs to step up quicker ro close. Cummings closes and on neither goal does the shot even get off.

1 point of 6 last 2 weeks vs weak opponents. A bad stretch.

Except for Danny, totally ineffective subs, and sub strategy.

I don't know how much time they had to acclimate in Denver, but the passing seemed to be off, and they ran out of gas way too early.

Only was able to watch first half....was worried that those missed opportunities might come back to haunt them.......glanced at my phone and saw that Vako had tied it and it got my hopes up.....then I saw the final score.....bummer.

Can't comment on 2nd half performance since I didn't see it.....sad to see the reviews of Fiero performance.....Hopefully Espinoza back for the next game....

Aside from the negatives that have already been mentioned, it should also be noted that Thompson, Yueill and Kashia all turned the ball over far too frequently when we were in our own half. Worst game of the year for TT and JY. Lima was not very good with the ball either, just gave it away further upfield. How many balls did we play straight out of bounds tonight?

Vega should have done better on the first goal.

It wasn't clear to me who was at fault for the second goal. It looked like Vako might have been the culprit for not staying with his man, but I'd have to watch it again.

I'd still rather see Shea playing on the left, and cutting in on his right foot.

Wondo let us down with missed shots and failing to get on the end of a couple of good crosses. Hopefully he'll find his magic a few more times before it's all over for him.

Hoesen was a bit more active tonight, but didn't impress with his touches, other than the assist.

Did Fierro play, and if so, why not? (see what I did there)

I don't often complain about the refs we get, but this guy was very poor throughout the entire game. Not the reason we lost, but my god. I think Danger said it was only his 10th MLS game. Looked like his first.

Regarding Fierro, if you remember, Espinoza did not impress in his first couple of games. It's laughable to declare him a bust after only 30 minutes of action.

If Galaxy win tomorrow, Quakes drop down to 5th, 1 point ahead of 6th place RSL and 2 points ahead of 7th place Dallas. A Portland win Wednesday will tie the Timbers with RSL 1 point behind the Quakes, and push Dallas below the playoff line.

Just would like to point out that this “weak” and “crap” team is 7-3-3 in our last 13, and won tonight to boot. That’s 1.846PPG.

Plus....Not too many additions/changes have been made to the group the players under our last coach who went 8-26-9 overall and started this season 0-7-2.

I would think of all the fanbases out there you guys would also understand how nice it is to see your team doing well under a new coach bringing a new system and the players buying in. It’s almost like both of our teams kinda have the same story going on right now....it’s cool to see the turnaround of both these clubs this season.

Granted, our last coach dug is into an almost insurmountable hole to start off, whereas you will be in the playoffs and a heck of a team to pay against in the hunt for the cup.

You guys handed us our butts two weeks ago, and played a good game tonight. The altitude and the woodwork really hit you guys hard tonight, but it was a good hard fought game between to teams that like to duke it out on the pitch.

Best of luck to the rest of your season. Catch y’all in 2020!

It doesn't matter how good this year's Quakes might be, they will stink up the pitch a few times, especially at another house. Everyone knows, or should know, that no matter how bad Colorado might be, they still enjoy one of the better home field advantages in the league because of altitude. It doesn't matter how fit you might be, the "gassed" factor is going to happen to you if you haven't had a week or so to acclimate. Still hurts to see them lose. I doubt Fierro is anywhere near being match fit at sea level, so his performance really came as no surprise....just making a point. If it continues, well, that's another story.

It seemed ill-advised to play Felipe, and Fierro together in a tough environment where we really needed points. But looking at the bench, the other options were Marie, Lopez, Cummings. Hoesen was our only offensive option on the bench.

So without Espinoza, we just couldn’t generate enough offense. It made me realize how shallow our bench is. I don’t know if Fierro and Ríos will fix that.

I don’t think it’s that easy to find a GK. Imagine at one time we had two starters in Joe Cannon and Jon Busch on the same team. I don’t think there is an abundance of those players left. Vega is better than Tarbell but he still has problems.

Hitting the post twice wasn’t good but the Quakes seemed out of their element at times last night.

Time to start giving the new signings a chance. Shouldn’t they be fit or ready by now?

I love the panic that sets in after a close loss in a difficult environment. If the team created chances, they'll start finishing them after a while. You can't expect everything to go your way all the time. Almeyda himself said they had been scoring at a pretty remarkable rate, above what they should probably be expected to score. So, naturally, they dip a little bit.

The team was going to stumble again on the way to becoming more competitive. This is MLS we're talking about. It's very important to set your expectations appropriately. A 2-1 loss in Colorado is not the sign of impending doom, or a reason to suddenly start saying players are bad when they've been playing pretty well all season.

Heck, I assumed they'd have struggled a heck of a lot earlier than this, so it's impressive they made it this long without being beaten again.

Yeah Vega is better than Tarbell but still nothing special and makes critical errors.

Watching the replay of the game. Wondo missed a sitter in the 26th minute. The Quakes need to make their chances because there was no reason to lose to this Rapids team.

for me I’d like to see Cummings start as if I’m not mistaken Kashia had an opportunity to block both goals last night and was responsible for the poor clearance that led to the crews goal last week

Looking at the replay, I wasn't impressed with Kashia either. He reads the game well and gets in some good interceptions but I think I'd also rather see Cummings. As a matter of fact, it seems we reverted back to Stahre's tactics last night.

Agreed and To be fair kashia did make a goal saving play (probably) late in the second half

I'd like to see Cummings replace Kashia.

Kashia turns the ball over repeatedly with his over ambitious passing. Cummings simply plays the ball to someone else who can make a better pass. It really stuck out the last two games how often Kashia turned the ball over...the guy struggles to connect even medium range passes.

I also think Cummings is more aggressive closing shooter's space.
