Hey, I often get mistaken for Thomas Hill, the Duke basketball player from the '90s. Well, other than the fact that he is 6'10" and black and had his hair cut in the shape of a staircase...
I work with a Dr with the same exact name as me including middle name. I get some interesting emails about patients! lol
Leonel Alvarez apparently sacked (or at least locked-out) as coach at Libertad in Paraguay amid scandal(s).
Seltzer: Ranking the top 10 Argentinean players in MLS history https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019/03/15/seltzer-ranking-top-10-argentinean-players-mls-history Would have liked to see Alberto Naveda on this list. I can still remember the emotion he was displaying when the Revs were knocked out. C'mon author - Just because it was year 1-2, show some love.
Agreed. I really liked him as a player, but he wasn't quick enough to make a bigger impact. The guy I really liked from those early days was Cate`!
I was a big fan of Welton that first year. Naveda, Welton, Joe-Max were all great early revs. I also liked fan favorites like Keegs, Sawatsky and Aidan Heaney in goal. He was epic in those gimmicky early shootouts. On a different note, I used to wonder what happened to Rob Ukrop. He scores a brace in the first ever match down in Tampa then all but disappears and gets released by the revs that June. Edit: found this interesting article about Ukrop.
Not only is Zachary Herivaux on loan to Heap's new club, Birmingham Legion FC (and Brian Wright was before his recall), there are some other familiar faces down there: Head Coach: Tom Soehn Assistant Coach: Khano Smith MF: Daigo Kobayashi FW: Femi Hollinger-Janzen GK: Trevor Spangenberg (with Revs in 2015)
Remember Sainey Nyassi? He has just been called up to play for the Cascadia National Team and will make his debut in a CONIFA World Cup qualifier vs Darfur July 27th in Kent, Washington. For us - sure, he's top 10. For the league, no. With the influx of good players from Argentina, Naveda would be way down the list.
Names from the past ... Imbongo is playing in the German second division (Alemannia Aachen). Bengtson is playing in Honduras (Olimpia). Both seem to be doing pretty well. #NERevs https://t.co/GwyorU2VHi— Seth (@SethMan31) July 9, 2019

Here's a couple. Where are Friedel and Burns these days?.. Friedel probably has a big severance fee to live on but Burns? I would think he has to work again somewhere. Just curious if anybody knows anything?
Yeah, that could be interesting. I doubt he had much warning that this was finally the time for him - and, he's got a miserable reputation within MLS and US Soccer, so ... Maybe he's got USSF connections that could help him find a transition role, or maybe it's time for a career change. Also, his son is in the Revs Academy, so that's a bit awkward ...
Not a player, but former Rev Liz (Lizz?) Summers: https://www.wsj.com/articles/cincinnati-soccer-team-plans-250-million-stadium-11563290101
Right here in Massachusetts. Probably doing his soccer camps. He doesn't strike me as someone living an extravagant lifestyle. I'm sure he's just fine financially. I can't imagine him getting another gig in soccer management.
She once called soccer "boring" when she was the paid mouthpiece for the club and was more excited about her new cookware set than she was about a Revs playoff win.
Dielna played for Portland in the US Open Cup semis. He gave up a PK with a handball blocking a direct free kick, and then was torched on a breakaway for the winner. Portland lost to Minnesota 2-1.
