Do we know which Wembley Group would possibly not be England if Scotland qualify?

Can’t work out if it’s the 1, 2nd or 3rd game? I imagine it will depend on the draw but was wandering if any set rules

I'll be at the Amsterdam group matches! Haven't seen too many people win Munich matches (super jealous).

Does this mean you booked flights from Australia too? Yesterday must have been an expensive day for many!

Congrats to everyone that was - to some extent - successful! I know that feeling of excitement pretty well, though I also was reminded this time around how it feels to swing and miss.

This was a rough ballot, especially in comparison with the last tourneys. Applied with 8 buddies of mine....we all got absolutely nothing! Not that this would be that stunning considering the sheer number of total applications but since we applied for games in Bilbao, Rome, Bucharest (alongside Munich, London and Amsterdam) we figured that at least one application would yield something.

I am hoping that the FCFS will provide another opportunity as I agree with most of you, that this phase usually brings home a couple of tickets... if you are persistent and if you are able to enter quickly once it opens. But yet again we will have to deal with all the touts/ scalpers who will do their very best to get their "fair share" of the tix once that portal opens.

Anyone, who wants to offload tickets may drop me a note... I would also go for tickets to @Forzabarca predicted draw of Slovakia vs. Ukraine as long as its a EURO2020 game!! :)

Has anyone got a source for that? In 2016 there was a full refund on resales, 0% hit.

I haven't been here for quite some time. I’ve been applying for the tickets since 2006 so I got some experience and thoughts about the process. Let’s focus on UEFA events.

Let me begin with that was always tough to get those tickets via lottery. I remember just few of my statistics but it will show the general rule.

For EURO 2008 tickets I put 15 application using data of my family. In each I applied for every possible game day so basically I applied for around 1200 tickets (!) (15 apps x 20 game days x 4 tickets). I got awarded tix for 6 games (24 tickets) in 5 different applications. So my tix rate for EURO 2008 was 2%.

For EURO 2012 tickets I put even more applications. I was awarded 0 tickets for no game in Poland and only few in Ukraine. Later on I bought all the tickets I needed on the FCFS basis using UEFA ticket portal (resale portal). Life hack for those living in the host cities: I managed to buy tickets for opening game, POL-RUS and semifinal less than 24 hours before the game on the ticket portal. I was able to retrieve those tix the next day at ticket office by the stadium. And those were the cheapest tickets I ever bought for major event: like cat. 3 (so called) obstructed view for 20 EUR.

For EURO 2016 tickets, I got everything I needed via national federation.

As with the years passing I lost my enthusiasm towards football, I almost forgot about the lottery phase for EURO 2020. I read an article about the deadline the very last day, just few hours before the ticket portal closed. So I posted 3 applications as a force of habit and simply being curious how would it work this time. I applied only for all the games in London, each for 4 tix, each cat.1.

Having said that, I was quite befuddled receiving the lottery results last night:

    G07 4x cat.1

    G20 4x cat.1

    G32 4x cat.1

    G37 4x cat.1

    G49 4x cat.1
    ----------------
    G07 4x cat.1

    G20 4x cat.1

    G32 4x cat.1

    G49 4x cat.1

    G50 4x cat.1
    ----------------
    G07 4x cat.1

    G20 4x cat.1

    G32 4x cat.1

    G37 4x cat.1

    G51 4x cat.1

It’s strange, isn’t it? Obviously, I’m going to pay only for the last one so you can clearly see that there should be a lot of tickets to grab in the next phases.

    Good luck!

I doubt that is what wombacik means but rather keep only the third application (the one with the final in it) that they made and either press cancel application on the other two (at the pay my tickets page) or just let the time expire. My friend's mother is doing the same with her three matches she won or so I've been told.

It is bizarre how it worked out. In the end I'm sorted for all three Wembley group matches as a friend got those (4 x Cat 2 for each). Didn't know as he was in a meeting all afternoon so didn't check the website and only knew when the email finally reached him. This is far better than I would have expected as I anticipated 1 or 2 matches between all of us (we were going cat 2 throughout ticking the box). It would be very interesting how the draw was done. I suspect applications were drawn and then fully or partially filled rather than a match by match draw of all requests. One possible reason for this is that it means fewer transactions to process. It also means that people with multiple applications can be less choosy when paying.

Bit of a sickener when someone like yourself, who has been a stalwart on the ticket threads and clearly a regular tournament attendee, misses out in the draw. Hopefully anyone on here with spares recognises that you've given useful advice in these threads and helps out. Good luck in the later rounds!

Kind of you to say Steve. Bearing in mind there are supposedly more Cat 1s than the others I am surprised at how few people on sites have received tickets at that level.

Yes, that's very strange. Cat.1 at most stadia is 60-65% of their total capacity. And how the hell could I went from 2% tix ratio with EURO 2008 up to 71,43% with EURO 2020?

    From UEFA "Latest"

    'Fans First'
If successful applicants do not make payment before the specified deadline, their tickets will go back on sale. Fans who were unsuccessful in the opening phase will be the first to be notified about the opportunity to purchase tickets through the UEFA 'Fans First' programme as of late August.

So it sounds like we "partially successful" might get another go if the total losers don't gobble them up first.

How do they let us poor sods know without others knowing? Or will it be a matter of having access for a short period of time first? All seems a bit like a Garden Fete to me. I never thought I would say I thought FIFA were better prepared.

Sorry stand corrected picked it up wrong, actually uefa has played into the hands of multiple applications. If you had say three apps and at least one was totally unsuccessful or 2 your going to get another go or 2 after aug 18. Id three apps was looking 1 tkt for :3 games exactly same on the 3 apps. 1 was a total success 2 others i got nothing. Now if i choose i can have 2 more goes

In nations league anyone unsuccessful got an email with a link, when you clicked it you had a chance to buy what was left for sale per usual rules.. It was a matter of making sure you saw that email asap

If you can't make it to Munich and don't get lucky with a swap, I'd happily take one of the tickets off your hands! ;)

three years ago and after 35 years of traveling for sport I decided I am over with world cups and euros, enough is/was enough. summer in my backyard/garden is beautiful and you see it better on the telly anyway. yes, I am missing the atmosphere but you can't have everything!

back to topic, my mates who still go applied for many tickets, mainly (as always) in category 2 and looks like they got (nearly) everything they wanted. I think they are still looking for some opening game tickets but apart from that they are well covered. there will be few dropped applications for sure, on saturday we are going to have a big BBQ (two wives are having a birthday) and they will decide there what to drop.

funnily most tickets came from well served, partially (mostly) successful applications, and all applications having just one game or final week in london only brought nothing. in the end they got 7 final tickets in category two (3+2+2), and there will be 6 of them traveling there, maybe even 7, so that fits fine. I just talked to "head of ticketing", as we call the one of us who has the most spare time :D and he said success rate was somewhere close to 10% which is well over what we had in the past, apart from russia in the first phase which was even more successful.

I was having some short thoughts maybe going to Munich or Budapest for a weekend game, but no, 900/550km are definitely too much!

for everyone being dissappointed, I am absolutely sure there is going to be a lot on offer in fans first/waiting list sale. fastest ones might get lower categories, but there should be more than enough tickets available in the highest category!

Hi @jesta my extensive network of guys produced much the same in conversion % rate across the matches. Hitting a much higher rate for semis oddly. But dipped quite lower for opener and final. No surprises really there. As usual they will trade their way into a final or any other game with spares and push other tickets at face value through contacts on here and other places. Most importantly is they will find their way into fans hands at cost price. I see the real anomaly being with non payment of multi apps and there will be plenty of those. So the second chance moment will be a good place for those who miss now.

yepp, keeping the tickets amongst fans is, as always, priority, just to keep clear conscience and stay on the safe side. of course, when trading you never know 100% where your tickets would end, but we at least always tried to do personal swaps.

whatever, there is a lot to come, it is almost a full year until kickoff ... it is important not to give up, for everyone still looking

I’m extremely confident of where they end up, from my mostly novice moment in 2013 the network has grown into something special. Mostly a WhatsApp group, with a proven bank of people who share the same ideology on transfer of tickets at face. The group does this is for pretty much any sports now that we want to see. Sheer brute force of hundreds of apps for literally any sport has helped form the bonds of tickets to real life friends. Quite a few of the old guys from here are in there. You are still one that got away always wanted to have a pint and a laugh with you.

Pretty sure it would only be determined at the draw. A lot of the positioning is already predetermined, so I highly doubt that they would have also predetermined the order in which the games are played.
