Perhaps they should have lived in DC and not in the sticks.

Umm, believe me they didn't live in the sticks. They lived in a very tony upscale area of Bethesda. Of course, if you look at a picture of their enormous mansion in the UK anyplace here is "the sticks."

I hope the XFL is a disaster, but doubt it will. Those wraslin' folks know how to sell.

Family is family and seems it was not DC or the sticks ... it was leaving the UK and his home .... not ever going to begrudge a player at his age (that is something all MLS teams need to think through about foreign DPs) who wants to take his family back home.

Good to see her back. As far as I've seen, there's been an informational Black Hole surrounding her recovery.

    "Hardest year of my life"

Just a reminder--Levien went on Kojo after the stadium opened and said a railing hit her in the shoulder and had a chuckle about how it would be an event that went down in stadium lore.

Washington Post poll of DC residents finds 6% say DC United is their favorite local team, up from 1% saying so in 2010 poll.

Note that this was a poll of District residents only, not anyone in Virginia or Maryland. Note also that the poll question gave a menu of Skins, Nats, Caps, Wizards, Mystics, United, or none of the above.

    That is encouraging. Really.

MLS games have a specific time frame. You know when its going to be over. (Only NBA and NHL games come close, MLB games are interminable.) Thats important for modern fans. Loud and enthusiastic atmosphere helps, too. Always love it when the supporters start chanting "F*** You, Ref!".

Also, surprising in that Audi Field has the 2nd worst location and accessibility. Only Fed-Ex is worse.

I kind of agree with that assessment. Audi Field isn't bad in terms of location, it's just that Capital One is clearly the best, and Nats Park is slightly better than Audi Field.

Ditto with the proviso that Nationals Park is a genuine first class major league ballpark and Audi Field, for all its visibility, is just a glorified NCAA Division II football stadium. Even so, Audi Field is miles and miles ahead of where United was when it played at racoon-infested RFK.
