    Im not a medical expert.

But starting the season with a back issue? The only midfielder we have worth something?

So basically Matic has to play regardless?!?!?!

Prior to the match vs Kristiansund, there was talk he might not be able to play there because of back problems (even if he did end up playing after all).
Let's just hope that it's nothing more than Ole and the medical staff being cautious and not taking chances ahead of next weekend. Touch wood because if he has to miss any significant period of time, as we currently are, we are screwed indeed.

Of course, Pogba missing the game is starting to trigger all the bullshit journos saying he's trying to force a move to Madrid.

    I like a good Wan-Bissaka slide tackle.

    Lineup?

Rashford, 1-0 United. Excellent finish following a nice run at Milan's defense.

Loved the directness of that Rashford goal.

It was a turn, face up, attack, quickly. Before Milan could get set again after the Matic counter pass.

Were going need lots of that if we want to force high turnovers this season.

Superb finish from Suso but thought that Dave should have done better. Guessing he was surprised by where Suso decided to place the ball.

Was just thinking that I'm more and more intrigued by what Dybala could provide to our attack in a false 9/free roving role alongside Rashford and Martial.

It's a super smart way to use him too I think.

Now we finally have an elite level RB defensively, i dont worry about AWB gettingbisolated against any winger, bar maybe 1 or 2 exceptions.

And, a RB who physically can get up and down that line too.

2-1, Milan. Suso with the ball in the box and Castillejo diverts it in...

Lingard, from a super tight angle makes it 2-2.

We were suffering for having Matic and McTominay as our pivots, with AP wide right and Mata central. Not enough pace up top for the press (after the equaliser) and Matic was Matic. We'd started brightly and some players gave good accounts of themselves but that was too much to have to compensate for.

This game is proof positive of why Woodward needs to close in on Fernandes. Without Pogba, the quality is just not there (or at least dips significantly). He has the ability to raise the levels of McTominay or AP, but they become very ordinary when he's not next to them.
An injection of quality there is a must as this game heads to pks after finishing all tied up.

Well it wasn't really the right team for Ole's tactics, it was very much a preseason team. We threw the game a bit with that starting lineup. If anything it was much more an Ole team after the subs when Lingard equalised. I'm a bit annoyed on AP's behalf for him being pushed wide right rather than play as 8 or 10.

Greenwood and Angel Gomes came on late and Angel in particular looked really good, such good feet. Axel was confident on the ball and had a good turn of pace to throw the press off. Dan James was very direct on the ball and Lingard should have scored after a great run at the end, a carbon copy of Rash's goal but with a scuffed finish straight at the keeper.

And United wins, to cap a perfect preseason, results wise at least.

We win on pens, 5-4. Daniel Maldini saved, Dan James with the winner in his home country.

Again, Angel Gomes impresses. Top corner blaster.
