Valverde has never played as a sole DM like Casemiro or Llorente does. He plays in a 4-4-2 for Uruguay. Stop coming up with nonsense. He's a waste in that position. Much better as a box to box player in 433. We don't have a replacement for Casemiro now that Llorente has gone. That's a specialist position. We sold him. Zidane has played him that way and Tabarez ended up playing him that way as well. He's a very versatile player. Easily can play deep.

This is preseason. Zidane has his flaws, some of them major flaws, but given how successful he has been, he deserves the benefit of the doubt. I just worry that by the time we determine if he is the solution or not, the league would be lost already
For what it's worth the commentary on the radio has been damning. He was getting destroyed that he hasn't learned a thing since he took over the job all those years ago. Segurola went on air and gave a damning review of Hazard that he's lazy and "hasn't gotten off his ass yet" saying people expect him to be a leader.
Compared to what most people have been saying on the radio/in comentary articles, the tone on here has been tame.

Zidane doesn't know how to change a system. he is building on what Carlo built a few years back, the only problem is that we don't have CR anymore. as for changing the players, clearly that is also not going to happen. In Zidane's mind, Benzema is the best striker in the world, kroos is still very good, Isco is one of the best midfielders in the world, LV is a genius player and Verane is at the top of this game. oh, and Pogba, *is* the best midfielder in the world.

We aren't playing with DMs and we have experimented with other formations (442) but some how we haven't tried new things out, changed the system and the season is over after three preseason matches. Same people will pretend they didn't jump off a ledge once everything starts. We have issues, but they are exaggerated because we are missing key pieces. I expect most if not all of those pieces to be here for the start of the season.
Changing the system would first require that we have a system/tactics. Please describe the current system to me. You can't because it doesn't exist.
I think the idea was Zidane would be a good man manager because of the respect he earned on the field but he fell out with a couple of players and now it is not enough without Cristiano around to carry over the finish line. Really disappointed with Hazard. Fair enough if he felt like he had earned a little leeway at Chelsea after winning some titles but he's currently our all time transfer record holder and showed up out of shape. That's not a good sign.
