You are right - I checked the fields. Thanks:thumbsup:

YSR ranks them 43rd and GS does not even have them ranked.

That coach is a piece of work...has his favorites that don't want to "work" for him.

Just heard from a friend whose
Kids play at Celtic & that JJ (forget last name) is leaving Celtic (Palatine) to become DOC at Sockers? And that some dude from Eclipse is taking JJ’s spot at Celtic. Anyone know anything about this? Or anything to rumors about Dad coming back to run the show at sockers? Seems like there is some change afoot ?

Nick Aguilar (sp?) is the guy from eclipse who came to be assistant dir to JJ and now has assumed JJ’s position. Or at least as I understand it/have been told.

So Sockers adding a female as DOC of the girls side - I am guessing that is JJ from Palatine?

Have always heard very good things about him. Apparently he took Campton girls teams to / winning(?) nationals finals a couple of times.

Be interesting to see what he can accomplish.

I think there will be some changes in the area (including the Fox Valley), over the next 2 years - likely some big changes.

I've heard some rumours but nothing substantiated. NSA making big changes, Campton just lost DA (I heard) and has dwindling numbers and debt. Chicago Rush maybe making a move? And I'd say Sockers with this recent addition may be growing up in the south a bit more.

Way up in the near "hey dar" area of NW Illinois, Rockford Raptors have a ECNL boys badge and this weekend in Michigan I heard that the Raptets maybe getting ECNL as well... Talk about weak sauce!

Told by a Sockers family that their girls DA staff has changed a bit. Apparently RC is now working with exclusively with the older girls. Don't know him but this family was pleased with the way he handled the 14s and 15s last year and were bummed to hear he wouldn't be there this year.

Also told that their U15 boys DA will have a different coach this year too in AG, but he coaches U13 and U14...coaching 3 DA teams cannot be easy.

Personal opinion: it's either great that even after a really good year they're working to improve their program and staff, or its an omen to bigger problems going on behind the scenes. I guess we'll see?

RC has worked hard to get where he is at. He believes in the girls DA program from top to bottom. He's also one of the few human faces there who will work with players AND parents. Good for him.

I hope BC moves into coach the 2006/2005 girls. He's a solid coach for developed players IMO and that would benefit the program.

Leave Jeremy & Albert for the Pre-Academy teams - two GREAT coaches!

I think the Raptors getting a ENCL badge on the girls side is a done deal.

Standards right out the window there

Good stuff happening at Sockers on boys/girls side. In my view improvements. This JJ guy, with his experience, should be a good fit in Naperville.

Brutally competitive market, but he should be able to make a difference with the Sockers brand behind him if what I hear about his background is true. Seems to me a market that is a crucial DA pipeline for future Schaumburg teams.

Naperville is fragmented as it comes and the soccer population is on the downswing. Its going to be tough to move the needle.

Boys have done well at Sockers Naperville. Girls are consistent B and C teams with mixed ages often. When I think soccer in Naperville or the general area I think Team Chicago, Galaxy, NSA - and that is where the talent really is on the girls side. Any great player will just go straight to Palatine/Schaumburg. So I don't think they will put much effort on that side of the house.

I'd add that Galaxy has some decent boys teams. They are a close community for the most part so it's hard to peal away good boys from that group.

Sockers CL growing? That's a huge mess of an area. As lncolnpark mentioned regarding dwindiling numbers, I think that area is on the decline as well.

What is up with Pre-Academy girls at Sockers? No u15 and up teams in IWSL. Are they just dumping them in NPL?

Sockers CL will never grow because they have no facilities to attract players from outside the program. Any of the young talent at Sockers CL matriculates to Palatine/Schaumburg leaving the rest to depart for community clubs in the area. It's been going on since the CL Magic coaches moved to Sockers many years ago and will continue, as I don't believe Sockers will ever be committed enough to the area to secure facilities. A shame, as a good % of players at Sockers in Shaumburg/Palatine are from the CL area (CL/Cary/Algonquin/LITH/McHenry/Huntley).

I would add that the Galaxy boys teams are more than decent, especially at the HS age. The 00, 01 and 02 teams all made regional semis and the 03 team was SC finalist. The 05 team is strong as well.

What's going on - on the girls side? Only 6 teams listed for IWSL from Palatine and 4 from Naperville. I see not teams above u14 listed at all - they just dumping whats left into an NPL team? My guess is that they likely will have a merged 05/06 team again - cannot imagine how they will get a true 2006 team from what is left. Not that other clubs are not having that issue as well. Regardless the count has gone down year after year.

Think this have to bring in a new club/location in order to increase numbers?
