To be fair half the time he is looking around and can’t find a teammate to pass to. Altidore played great last game and started this game energetically. But it seems like after his missed opportunity he’s reverted to the old static Jazy who stands in middle of field and hopes.
Boyd needs to come on at the 45th. Morris offers nothing. We have seen it before, Morris is not at the level of better CONCACAF teams. He's simply not good enough for the HEX teams.
Bradley is keeping better to his position, but otherwise he is doing nothing on defense. Mexico passes through him, and runs by him, over and over again. Our own players seem to bypass him as much as possible through the middle. They involve him when they want to pass back to recover form or, a couple of times, when he is open forward, and the Mexican side is sitting back away so his ability to hit a cross to goal has its chance....... To their credit, he is getting a tremendous amount of help from his team-mates. As for Morris, he has been such a non-factor that I cannot remember the announcers [I am listening to the spanish feed] ever calling out his name. And we should have scored at least one goal in the first ten minutes. Frustrating This Mexican side has some issues, and is careless with their shots. This is a game we can win. We should win..
And yet, he has shown zero ability to play it long or even the confidence to attempt to. Defending is only half of his job.
Couldn't catch up to all the first half commentary at halftime. Exciting first half. I couldn't tell you who is going to win this game, but am concerned for a brain fart winner for Mexico.
He's a central DEFENDER, so it's more than half his job, and you ignored my point that they're taking time to draw the defense, playing it back to Steffen, then go long. As he couldn't just boot the ball clear if he wanted to. An 8th grader could.
