Thought they were going to get a point out of it. Oh well, get home, rest up and take to RSL.....

Why are the commentators riding minnesota like a cheap hooker? Jesus "A NEW IDENTITY! A NEW MINNESOTA UNITED! BEST CLUB EVER! MLS CHAMPIONS SURELY! THE WONDERWALL BEHIND THE GOAL WON THE GAME FOR THEM! JESUS RESIDES UNDER THE PITCH! CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD!" ....Like, damn...Relax.

They barely beat us, honestly, we out played them for a solid 80 minuets, our squad is tired after 3 games in 7 days, and look forward to another one in 3 days. It's not like minnesota handedly out played us from the first whistle.
Any other day, our several shots would not have gone right to mannone, as our players normally hit low corner shots.

Stop acting like Minnesota did anything noteworthy outside of beating a tired ass team.

This is one of those games where the scoreline doesn't actually reflect the performance.

We're barely coming into half way in the season and commentators are acting like they just won the Champions league. Like, okay, your side is on a hot streak in a conference where winning 3 games decides whether you're in 2nd or 8th.

The cheating by Quintero was noteworthy. I’ll be hoping that cheater gets a bad injury.

We outplayed them, they played ugly bunker ball and won. It's a push but i'm proud of our tired guy's performance.

The Quakes dominated after they scored their second goal and could have easily tied it up. It just didn't go their way but you are right and it will actually be 4 games in 12 days!

I don't get why MLS schedules this many games during this period. You have bye weeks and then all these games in succession. Its not a WC tournament where you are playing ever 3 days and also , we have players missing because of the Gold Cup. The loss is understandable so hopefully they will come back against RSL.

Pretty much, I'm happy we lost playing attractive soccer and being the dominant side the whole match, we just got unlucky, really, that's about it. Their goalkeeper didn't really do anything note worthy, almost every shot went right to him. Had the two shots that went off his leg go 2 inches higher, it would have easily been 3-2 EQ's. He got those two shots that hit off his leg horribly wrong, but gt just lucky enough to not concede.

It is what it is, let minnesota have their day. The season still goes on for another 4 months, so we'll see how their wonder wall is doing when their streak ends.

Right, we dominated after their first goal, then they had a small streak in the second half when they scored that second goal which was a gift (and they acted like they did beautiful movements to make it), then we dominated again for 35 minuets straight.

the 2nd goal was the backbreaker. Defense let Boxall walked in unimpeded, and then Judson made a bad pass to him, and Vega failed to close down the shot on time. Easy goal for Boxall.

Granted, our attacks lack finishing in the last 3rd. But a tie would have been the result had Judson and Vega played properly. They did not and the loss can be pinned on them.

Wondo did not even sniff the ball at all. Vako was triple-teamed all night, Magnus can't hit the side of a barn, and Espinosa was also neutralized on the rightside. We got a little bit more dangerous when Hoesen subbed in for Wondo, but barely.

We're borderline playoff team when this roster play well, but if we want to contend, we're going to need a finisher. Judson is done starting, thank God.

Marie looks very good by the way, very very good.

annoying as quintero is, I take him over Erickson in a heartbeat. Erickson does just as much whining, but at least quintero is actually good

Unfortunately the next match is in only three days, so there won't be much time to rest for that one either. :(

At least it'll be at home, though. :)

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! :(

There was just no flair offensively. Our midfielders and defenders played well and kept pressing but our forwards shots were either too weak or right at their GK.

We’ll make up for this on Saturday against RSL.

I hope we’re able to sign a DP in this window. Hope they can get Rios as well.
I think the rest of the season is going to be a constant struggle to make a playoff spot.

Minny were expected to blow SJ off the pitch this match. They didn't and I'm not surprised, knowing now of the Quakes heart (as do we all). I don't bet on anything, though I check the line. This one steamed from Minn -1/2 to -3/4. No one here understands this, but it's a huge move on the betting market and surely was a portent that Minn would come out strong and put SJ in a hole.

You can say Quake outplayed them here and there (they did, after heavy siege H1) but the result was destined and not fixed. I can't help it if that's too esoteric for anyone.

I'm proud of Quakes, as we lately always are. The match leaves no blemish on their outlook going forward.

How does everyone feel about the new SJ amateur team coming up soon?

I might catch a few games. I hope they're not run as pathetic as "real san jose".

Atletico San Jose FC. They just finished up try-outs. www.atleticosanjosefc.com
They should be having a kit release sometime soon.

Though, I doubt with SJEQ's attendance, they're probably barely going to get less than 100 a match. But they're trying to go up to USL pro and hopefully into MLS.
