A fullback who needs to move this summer to a larger club is Philipp Max. One of the better LBs in the BL for couple seasons in a row now but quite in the NT spotlight. He'll need to be at a club that features in European competition and prove himself to make the next jump
Augsburg today announced the signing of some Brazilian LB 97-Iago, so could mean Max is leaving or he's Max's back up. Also does answer the question of Jakob's future. If Max stays than he's irrelevant and if Max leaves he's the back up option. I doubt they payed money to buy some LB to have him as second fiddle. Really continues the trend of German clubs not integrating much anymore, it's vast majority all buying youngsters with experience or who are supposedly rated (and a ton of those bomb too), not supposed to post any transfer updates but Passlack seems to be linked with Stuttgart and a few other 2BL clubs.
The last substantial report of Max several weeks ago, indicated that he wanted to leave Augsburg. But it was just the matter of where he would go and what transfer formalities. Dortmund already confirmed Schulz, and Schalke are being linked with Gosens more. Wonder if Hoffenheim are an option
I feel like he could be forced to stay though. Feels like every club this Summer bought LBs. Hoff bought Stafylidis from Augsburg. Wolfsburg bought as well. could always try Gladbach who only have almost 34 year old Wendt and the 99-Poulsen. And another option could be Frankfurt Tawatha wants to leave which would leave Jetro as the only LB left.
That would be a shame. Max remaining at Augsburg won't be enough to elevate him into NT consideration. Although right now I do have him behind Schulz and Halstenberg anyways. Gosens moving to the BL would be a boost in terms of Germany NT chances. I'd put Max ahead of Gosens in terms of ability, but probably on par for NT depth charts if Max doesn't leave Augsburg. In the fwiw category there's also Hector but mainly because he's been a player that Jogi remains potentially focused on based on past experience.
Wonder if Phil Neumann can make the next step in progressing at Holstein Kiel. He was in and out of Ingolstadt's rotation last season. But he did start in the final 7 matches where they won 5 of them. He joins a more organized 2nd division side in Kiel.
Durm wants to make a return to the Bundesliga now and sees that as a priority. He's reportedly in discussions with Wagner at Schalke https://www.transfermarkt.de/durm-b...e-mit-schalke-trainer-wagner/view/news/338964

Second left-back signing for Augsburg in a week. Philipp Max has indicated he would like to leave, so is this paving the way for his exit? #FCA https://t.co/y43v4A2dUi— Ronan Murphy (@swearimnotpaul) June 27, 2019 seems more and more likely that 1-Max is out 2-Jakob will not be integrated by Augsburg

Interview with Phil Neumann and his move to Holstein Kiel https://www.liga-zwei.de/holstein-kiel-interview-mit-phil-neumann/
out of curiosity why do you post things about youth players in the fullback, GK, and striker threads when they belong in the youth thread? I mean Kohn, Neumann, Schubert, Teuchert are all still youth eligible. we usually keep those threads for the "grown up" players. you rarely post these days in the youth thread?
