Peru through. VAR has really influenced this tournament. Many goals called back for very, very close offside calls.
This tournament sucks. So many blown calls and no extra time. Gives incentives to lesser teams to park the bus for PKs.
Well done to everyone who said Peru would get pumped all because we lost to Brazil (a good team) 5-0.
That is nobody's fault. It is the rules. If you can't get the job done in 90, then it should be done. I could just as easily say that stronger teams have an advantage if you are given more time. That is also not fair, so the middle of the pack is just have it as a coin toss. I will say this, even though it saved us today, I still think the new offside rules and VAR have killed this tournament.
Yeah, you have to lift the flag after the play is done now (something like that) and now any part of the body counts as offside.
Nope. It's any part of your body that is deemed valid for scoring a goal. At least the last years I remember. When it's that close, it's just very hard if not impossible for linesmen to make the correct call with out VAR.
Should of got pumped, VAR did a good a job though. Uruguay were very clearly the better team. Peru had 0 shots on target.
They are the better team and we should have lost, but the point is we didn’t and that’s a dig at the ones who said Uruguay winning was free money.
Fair enough, congrats on the win. Peruvians are lovely people so if we gotta lose prefer it’s against you guys. Just please play better against Chile lol couldn’t stand them in another final.
Linesman called all three offsides in the game, they went to VAR to make sure. If anything you could have blamed VAR if the decisions had been overturned.
You beat me to it. He'll now be silent and absent, just as when Brazil beat Uruguay 6-0 in the last match of the South America U-20 in 2011. Guri talked trash the entire time but after that match... a graveyard-like silence from him.
