Well, van Dongon just saved a goal.

Who you got who you could replace her with?

Van de Sanden has been shockingly bad so far in this tournament.

Slight edge to Italy in the 1st half. Let's see who steps up in the second half.

45+5' (of +5') 0-0 van de Donk counters to circle top, Italy recovers. Long cross to 14m 6-right, Italy volleys away.

HT 0-0. Some half-chances both ways on the run, but execution wilted in the heat.

    Italy 4(1)-(3)5 shots(sog), 1-0 corners, 1-0 offsides, 3-7 fouls, 9-10 tackles, 12-10 clearances, 42% possession, 71% (94/133) - (223/271) 82% possession.

She was a one-trick pony in 2017 and opponents have found her out mostly. The same is true for Martens. Didnt matter so far as they are in the QFs still

Hah, try living in Arizona, where the temps are around 90 at midnight in the summers.

Well, no-one talks about her, but I guess our LB Alia Guagni has having an heck of a tournament! :ninja:

It's true, though, that, as @BarryfromEastenders mentioned, Van de Sanden was quite bad vs Japan also, when Sameshima basically erased her.

Well, it looks like they're doing something more than just surviving. :)

Although not converting their chances will result in Italy probably matching Japan's destiny...

She came into the World Cup as second choice behind van Es. I thought van Es was poor against Cameroon and van Dongen was great against Canada; so, I was fine with the switch. However, van Dongen really has had a rough first half.

I have a colleague in Phoenix and she's echoed your sentiments. The thing is we get that unbearable humidity at all times of the day. If last year is any indication, this won't end until mid September.:cry:

Italy's #10 isn't on the pitch, so van de Donk.

Let's hope they water the pitch at half time. The surface does not look good. It's so dry it reminds me of turf.

One team will make a defensive mistake and that will decide the match. Don't want to see extra time for sure

True, I have friends in Florida and have visited in July.
Humidity was unbearable and I hated it. Although, December in Florida is nice.

46' 0-0 Italy subs in (1 of 3) #17 Lisa Boattin for LB #13 Elisa Bartoli.

49' 0-0 van Lunteren(?) cross from 25m wide right to arc right, knocked down to van de Sanden in a seam at 13m mid-right. She lifts a cross to 7m 1/4 left, Miedema jumps for a header but it's just a bit too high, flick-heads wide left.

50' 0-0 Netherlands cross from box right to Martens at 9m left post, she chests it up and volleys the drop to left post low, Giuliani dives right and double-blocks leftward.

51' 0-0 Groenen stumbles past 1 through box top right, emerges free at 11m 6-right, shoots right instep into Gama's chest, over endline right?

Blatant body check in the build up to that Groenen chance. Like an NFL block :ROFLMAO:

She might dive and get a PK...but she's too classy for that

I hate it! LOL. The summer before last was the worse. Honestly, if I didn't have bills to pay, I wouldn't have left the house.

Italy coach is the best tactically by far. So many other coaches let the game slide before making decisions.
