Ralf #Rangnick on Timo #Werner: “Timo is of the opinion that he doesn’t want to extend the contract, but so far no club has contacted us and said it has an agreement with Timo and wants to sign him”. [kicker]— German Football Daily (@GERFootDaily) June 16, 2019
Sport1: A transfer from Timo #Werner to #FCBayern is moving further and further away. There is increasing scepticism within the club as to whether the 23-year-old could seriously strengthen the team. #RBLeipzig— German Football Daily (@GERFootDaily) June 25, 2019
seems to be due to Bayern wanting him to play Winger while he doesn't really see himself as one as they have Lewa/Muller in the position he wants. no point in going to Bayern, they won't help him grow as a striker.
Agreed. No need for him as a winger. Lewa is not going anywhere for the next 2-3 years so Werner would be nothing more than a backup with no guarantees he would be #1 once Lewa is gone...
you know it's an issue when they see Werner as a Sane alternative when he's not. I mean there is already Arp for that role, why add Werner? I get the feeling Bayern won't buy a CF, they need Robbery replacements and maybe a new cb as well.
isn't he a better fit at Dortmund than Bayern? Timo Werner has rejected two offers from Dortmund. The RB Leipzig striker wants to sign for Bayern Munich. (Source: Transfer Fussball) pic.twitter.com/J3Vv2uzTQp— Transfer News Live (@DeadlineDayLive) July 17, 2019
Timo Werner is close to making a decision on his future. After a move to Bayern has long been considered decided, everything is open again. Salihamidžić and people at Bayern have doubts over Werner and now the player could imagine moving abroad or renewing at Leipzig [@SPORT1] pic.twitter.com/xz4LK2xRP5— Bayern & Germany (@iMiaSanMia) July 19, 2019 it really does reiterate that Bayern transfers is all Hasan.
In that case we should buy him....or influence him NOT going to Dortmund. I don’t buy into that “stronger rivals” or “coEfFiEnCy” narrative....
RB Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff reveals many clubs are interested in Timo Werner, telling Sport Bild: "If Timo should not extend, then we would like to get a transfer fee. There are numerous interested parties and international top clubs have enquired." #RBL— Ronan Murphy (@swearimnotpaul) July 31, 2019
it's the wrong thread, should be in Havertz one. hard one, they are both elite talents and both are the future of Germany and England but I find they have their own thing, they have different tools at their disposality. Sure Havertz can dribble but Sancho is better at that than Havertz. I mean Sancho seems more like a Brazilian footballer than British. While Havertz has the edge on size/heading and can pretty much play anywhere from midfield to attack and he uses his teammates that lure defenders to come out of nowhere and score. seems like more and more dfb want to start to produce their own Sancho. They see him as the ideal winger, that is the impression I get. Likely will get better once those dfb training updates take effect and we see the outcome of it in who knows how many years from now.
noticed I made mistake in this thread. Werner picked up an assist in dfb cup. Instead posted about Havertz, oops. and now scores his 1st goal of the new season to make it 3-0. https://streamja.com/oVkN Werner already has like 115 goals/assists as a pro. Getting very close to 100+ goals/assist in 1BL. Seems like he's 2 goals/assist away from 100 goals/assist in 1BL.
💥💥💥 Bääääm! 💥💥💥 @timowerner verlängert bis 2⃣0⃣2⃣3⃣!👉 https://t.co/LoxlWgTiP3 #Werner2023 🤜🤛 pic.twitter.com/baHgL9Go4K— RB Leipzig (@RBLeipzig) August 25, 2019
and scored his 2nd of the season vs Frankfurt to make it 1-0, still running. https://streamja.com/0nVk
Werner is now 1 away from his 100 1BL goal/assist. With his contract extension, whether RB Leipzig or Bayern he seems to be staying in Germany for the next bunch of years, so very likely will go over 100 1BL goals in a few years.
Fantastic news for NT that he decided to play under Nagelsmann instead of playing under Kovac to be a bench warmer behind Lewandoski or playing out of position in wings
