I'm also not really into this move but not much we can do about it.

Gomez had the best seasons of his career as a Bayern player.

seems to be due to Bayern wanting him to play Winger while he doesn't really see himself as one as they have Lewa/Muller in the position he wants.

no point in going to Bayern, they won't help him grow as a striker.

Agreed. No need for him as a winger. Lewa is not going anywhere for the next 2-3 years so Werner would be nothing more than a backup with no guarantees he would be #1 once Lewa is gone...

you know it's an issue when they see Werner as a Sane alternative when he's not.

I mean there is already Arp for that role, why add Werner?

I get the feeling Bayern won't buy a CF, they need Robbery replacements and maybe a new cb as well.

isn't he a better fit at Dortmund than Bayern?

In that case we should buy him....or influence him NOT going to Dortmund.

I don’t buy into that “stronger rivals” or “coEfFiEnCy” narrative....

it's the wrong thread, should be in Havertz one.

hard one, they are both elite talents and both are the future of Germany and England but I find they have their own thing, they have different tools at their disposality. Sure Havertz can dribble but Sancho is better at that than Havertz. I mean Sancho seems more like a Brazilian footballer than British. While Havertz has the edge on size/heading and can pretty much play anywhere from midfield to attack and he uses his teammates that lure defenders to come out of nowhere and score.

seems like more and more dfb want to start to produce their own Sancho. They see him as the ideal winger, that is the impression I get. Likely will get better once those dfb training updates take effect and we see the outcome of it in who knows how many years from now.

noticed I made mistake in this thread. Werner picked up an assist in dfb cup. Instead posted about Havertz, oops.

and now scores his 1st goal of the new season to make it 3-0.

    Werner already has like 115 goals/assists as a pro. Getting very close to 100+ goals/assist in 1BL. Seems like he's 2 goals/assist away from 100 goals/assist in 1BL.

Werner is now 1 away from his 100 1BL goal/assist. With his contract extension, whether RB Leipzig or Bayern he seems to be staying in Germany for the next bunch of years, so very likely will go over 100 1BL goals in a few years.
