Earlier on you wrote: "I'd rather lose to Venezuela now than lose 4-0 to Brazil later." Do you really believe your team is likely to lose to Brazil by such a scoreline?

Rivalry aside I noticed you haven't been too optimistic about your team's current form, but that's a rather lopsided scoreline.

That's the difference i see between the teams right now. Other than Bolivia I don't see any other team as clueless as to what they're doing as Argentina. There are other technically inferior teams like Qatar, Ecuador, Paraguay, even Venezuela but they all seem to have a better game plan than our team.

Also, last time we played Brazil at mineirao it was 3-0 and this team plays worse so...

So true. Well...not sure about Qatar but the rest, yeah... add Japan under-24 to the list.

To me, the weakest group as how it played out, happened to be the one where Argentina was, where only Colombia presented a gorgeous style of play as a team, while all others, depended only on some fortuitous play, and in the case of Argentina, in the individual display of its top players (with absolutely no team work at all). More so Qatar, given their limitations, showed lots more team work than both Argentina and Paraguay.

But , they do a lot, if there are questionable calls, by whichever, the central referee or the VAR.
And more so, if it only affects one of the teams in the pitch.

I'd be surprised if Argentina DOESN'T beat Venezuela comfortably.

Argentina on paper surely look much more than Venezuela , but this Venezuelan team are tight and disciplined and i see them do something positive on this game. This is the time and chance for Venezuela to beat and eliminate Argentina, as Argentina right now are kind of meh..

Well I didn't expect Peru to lose by 5! That hasn't happened to Peru in a while.

I am surprised that Brazil hasn't gotten any corners yet. Paraguay defending when needed but with the mistakes, they're making and sloppy momentum we're likely gonna see Brazil gaining more and more confidence. They both fouled 11 times but Paraguay has 3 yellows to Brazil's 1 yellow. Brazil with 5 shots 3 on target compared to Paraguay's 3 shots 1 on target.

Unsurprisingly Brazil has had a lot more possession and has double the amount of passes over paraguay.

Brazil hit the woodwork late in the 2nd. But thus is football. Hammer and attack for 90 minutes yet fail to score for whatever reason.

Brazil in the semifinals via PKs.

Brazil did deserve the win so no upset here. Although I am curious if we're going to get a classic match up between Brazil and Argentina?

I know the following means nothing, but they will play at the Mineirao for a semi-final game. Coincidentally, 2 of their 4 home losses in history was at the Mineirao, both for semi finals. 1975 Copa America vs Peru and 2014 World Cup vs Germany.

Brazil did its part. Venezuela wants its own berth in the semifinals. We will have to wait and see.

Last time Brazil played in Belo Horizonte against Argentina, Brazil won 3-0. Of course, it means nothing.....................

Paraguay sure played ugly, playing not to lose. And how did Brazil didn't score at least 3 or 4 is beyond me.

Just for the record: Peru was the only team who went out for the win against Brazil, and we all know how that turned out.

Like I said, Brazil are nearly unbeatable at home. There is a reason they've only lost 4 games at home in their history. Only the best of the best can match them, and I can only see them go out via penalties like yesterday.

However, the next game is a semi-final at the Mineirao... ;)
