ASC are supposed to play their first home Founders Cup game on September 7th versus Cal FC, if Cal FC are really going that route and not USL L1, USL 2 or NISA.
The deadline for discovery has been extended again. The new proposed discovery schedule wouldn't close discovery until January 17, 2020. pic.twitter.com/TbczwdJW5H— Steven Bank (@ProfBank) June 26, 2019 The motion mentions a few depositions that would still be permitted under the new schedule (despite technically violating the old schedule). Aaron Davidson's deposition should be an interesting one. He's the former NASL commissioner who was arrested in the FIFA scandal pic.twitter.com/QTikWaJrCo— Steven Bank (@ProfBank) June 26, 2019
Also NASL 3.0 seems to have fallen apart before it even played a game. Oakland Roots leave @npslfc, apply for @NISALeague Spring 2020 season https://t.co/6VPAvxCb1p— Chris Kivlehan (@kivlehan) June 27, 2019 As far as I know there is not a concrete plan for a post Founders Cup league, which leaves little option for a club like @ChattanoogaFC but to join @NISALeague. IMO CFC can’t go back to short season. What this means for other clubs in Founders Cup beyond the Fall ... uncertain.— Chris Kivlehan (@kivlehan) June 27, 2019
That's two key defections from NPSL by 2020 - Miami FC and Oakland Roots.Good for NISA, bad for Founders Cup. I am hearing at least one more club from Founders Cup likely to join @NISALeague in 2020.Have been waiting to interview NISA prez Prutch since Jun 4th - shrug emoji. https://t.co/YQ43lUDS6w— Nipun Chopra, PhD (@NipunChopra7) June 27, 2019

As it turns out running a Professional Organization, let alone a Professional Sports Team is very difficult and expen$ive. I'm shocked, truly shocked.
Don't you know true clubs like Man United and Barcelona dont need millionaires to be successful! They're grass root!
There's Chattanooga, but Detroit supporters seem to be beefing with them lately for reasons I didn't care to dive into.
Spoiler Alert: They're all NASL 3.0 Most of the decent teams will jump ship to some level of the USL pyramid within 1-5 years. The rest will either fold, or still be whining on Twitter.
This Dion guy sounds like a true believer and may God bless but he's equating grown up guys facing reality and choosing not to just throw away hundreds of thousands of dollars chasing unicorns with backstabbing, double dealing and faithlessness. These guys were on board. They were willing to pitch on on the project, and sink serious money into the deal But at this point they see no realistic way forward that does not involve Gnome underpants thinking. The project has/is.failing not because the participants were feckless cowards but rather because the plan is.not.viable This guy needs to wake up and smell the coffee
This just in: Business owners and investors prefer to make money than lose it! More as this story develops.
If I remember right, he's been the coms guy for Detroit's Northern Guard supporters club. He's done a fantastic job at flushing a lot of goodwill directed at Detroit down the toilet by acting like an abrasive hipster asshole online over the last few years.
To be fair, they are going to NISA, so it’s probably more a case of lose less money than lose lots of money.
The problem is that the existing teams own territorial rights. For instance, Mark Hall owns USL rights for the East Bay, with supposed plans for launching a suburban team in 2023, which means that Oakland Roots have to find another league to play in.
Either that, or pay the other team for the rights to play there. I can't imagine it would be that expensive for minor league soccer.
