The people who support Duncan Hunter are the same who say that they voted for Trump so as to drain the swamp. Unpack that one, I dare you.
Hollywood couldn't remake the Fisher King for todays world, cause the character Jeff Bridges played would be a youtube personality and would only become more famous after a fan went a mass shooting rampage. also first page and the Loons are gonna make the playoff, etc, etc, etc
I know there's an ongoing discussion of conservatives who no longer post here, but I would like to take the opprtunity to point out that there are sufficiently "woke" portions of the internet that would gang up on NORML's profile's reference to cis-gendered radio harrasser Garrison Keillor and insist he denounce those crimes and change his location profile to "Live From Here." And "first page."
There is literally not a topic where he can't blame Obama. Throw any one out. Economy - we were going nowhere under Obama. Zero job growth...a joke. Now it's the best economy ever. It's so good that any Black who wants a job can get one! We've never seen that before...believe me. Defense - he weakened us and Trump is making us strong again. I saw a big beautiful aircraft carrier called the Eisenhower or whatever. One day they'll rename it The Trump. Because I've been the best for military, hands down. Immigration - he let muslims and Mexican rapists in here. My immigrants are mostly white, ookaay? Some Ch!nks and dots we let in but we hafta keep those IT depts running.
I pretty much lost faith last week and it had almost nothing to do with Trump. First, I sat in on a Chamber of Commerce meeting. The meeting was about attracting tech talent to midwest. There were three people including me who worked for tech companies. We sat through a presentation in which the all the town's/cities that were highlighted because of growth were major college towns. The presenter said it was from the towns being business friendly. We pointed out that having a strong computer science depts at state universities seemed to be important given all the cities/towns highlighted were college towns. Was basically told we had no idea what we were talking about. The guy running the meeting owns laundromats. Then, I see the Conservative kid get turned down by Harvard. Shockingly, people who suggest we wait for facts to come out in light of the Covington kids jump in defense of the kid. My favorite is that a 16 year old kid can't get judged on his behavior while his grades at 16 were fair game. Highlight was Washington Examiner Editor go all in before stuff comes out and then goes radio silent until AOC's holocaust comment. Which then brought the dumbest argument. You had one side trying to compare something to the holocaust and the other side saying it's bad but no Holocaust. In the meantime, kids are sick, sleeping on the floor, and without basic needs. Last, there were people arguing over political parties with actual historians. Thoroughly saddened by the fact that these people are ignoring that they could change in the present instead of fighting in the past. Or my personal favorite, about african americans and the democratic party which almost always implies that african americans are stupid (people making the comment never seem to realize).
The "idea" that the far right was responsible for abolition is the only historical argument more thoroughly asinine than the assertion that the Nazis were socialists. These people get their history from fortune cookies.
