I used to post frequently in Argentina and Brazil forum during the 2010 WCQ and stopped after 2010 WC.

They didn’t mind my comments bc I was a regular contributor and they knew I was pretty objective - I remember the Argies were super EMO after Germany wiped them out and I posted some stuff as to why they lost and some took offense while others were more reasonable.

Im not a fan of people who start posting mid tournament bc they tend to just come in looking for trouble. I remember there was an annoying Englishman who started posting shit just after they eliminated us. F*** that

yes I think I vaguely remember the english dude, I think I told him that their press and media suck. He didn't last too long fortunately.

there's a peruvian dude who comes in once a while who is very cool. But its true what you say a lot of people come in with specific agendas which is really irritating, its like going to someones house and telling them they're not very good at their job or something

Well, you got a wrong impression.

I love to talk and debate about football, and since the other forum related to Copa America, but from the Conmebol forum, doesn't have as many posts as for other past Copa America's, I come here to share diferent point of views about the issue.

Nowdays the Bigsoccer forum, unfortunately, seems to have lots less movement as it had in the past.

I also post some stuff in the peruvian and brazilian forums.
The chilean forum, is almost dead. At some other forums, they've made it very clear to you that you are not welcome there, so I hold myself from doing so (why force something, when you don't want to be heard ?).

If many colombians tell me not to come here any more, I will not. But the only one who really has, is the one with whom I exchanged a few posts a little while ago. And one guy, a very controversial individual, isn't representative of its whole community.

could be, its an impression after all.

people can do what they want of course, each to their own.

Pep can be a bit overwhelming but I feel like he at least has his views, he definitely has his value in this forum though.

You’re definitely welcome to post and I encourage it as long as you aren’t trolling or looking to stir the pot LOL. It’s always good to get an outsider view - some of us, myself included, can be bias about certain players and tactics to a fault and strength at times :)

Certain posters here definitely take things personal and get all bent out of shape over things. You will quickly find the “ignore” feature works wonders. But everyone else has great points of view and sees things from different angles which is what I really enjoy the most here

Not only here. At other forums as well. Sometimes he does post good stuff.
But in others he doesn't, and instead posts basicly hate in its diferent forms, which is highly disturbing (not only when it is targeted at you, but on others as well).

Lol. What cities were you in? I spent time in Santiago and Valparaiso / Vina Del Mar

You gotta negotiate the cab rides before the ride starts otherwise they will hustle you. Too many stray dogs in Santiago. Those were my only complaints.

Otherwise, I loved the wine tasting and VDM/Valpo.

Wine tasting was awesome, something about Santiago makes it a very pleasant city. Loved it. Empanadas were bomb too.

Went to Santiago, Viña del mar/valparaiso, and Puerto Natales. People were just rude for some reason.

    Anyways, back to soccer

This is off topic, but may help one or two.

When refered to taxi cab rides in Santiago Chile, you should take lots of caution in riding aboard an official taxi cab, and simply have them use the machine that applies the fare, since the moment you get in the car. If you do that, you will have no problems in your whole trip and no one will hustle you. The real problem is, that most of the times it is very difficult to recognize an official taxi cab, compared to an unofficial one.
There is lots of piracy here, refered to taxi cabs, where many illegals paint cars exactly as how a taxi cab must look to the unexperienced eye.

A few hints to avoid getting hustled : licence plates (in front and back part of the car) must be orange with black letters and numbers. The license number must be written outside the doors and at top of the car, clearly with big characters. An official taxi cab must also have an official registry patch of the ministry of transport of Chile, visble from outside on the front window. And somewhere inside the cab, must have a visible advertize, that will tell you the adress and web site of the ministry of transport, so you can easily present a formal complaint if anything goes wrong during your trip.

If anything posted above is missing or not in the right place (such as a license plate not outside, but inside the car; or a white license plate; or even without any license plate at all), with no doubt it is an illegal car, and they will literally smug you and not charge you less than 100 times the real cost of the trip (not kidding about the quantities).

Besides be aware that there are many apps, that offer rides here in Chile, that are absolutely illegal, where if you get caught using them, can even mean you a fast trip to jail (jails in Chile, is not a place I suggest anyone to visit, even if you are a criminal).

About stray dogs, well, in Chile since some time dogs (other animals as well), also have legal rights that should be respected.
You hurt a dog, if proved the bill you'll get, you will sure not forget it.

Uber may exist, have official adresses and everything the same as if they were a legal company.

But from the transport of passengers point of view, regulated by our Ministry of transport, they are still illegal.

If you still want to use them, you can be aware that there is not so much control on this (main reason why piracy in transport in Chile proliferates even faster than the growth of grass), but even though it seems there isn't much of it, it does exist, and you can still get in trouble, if caught.

Besides with their always changing fares, if you think they charged you in excess, as they are illegal you could only make a complaint to Uber admisitrative offices, in which case if they don't want to listen to you, you got no where else to go. If by any chance you go to some public authority, to file a complaint, you'd be accepting that you did something illegal, and instead of following a case against them, they are going to give you charges instead.

To not only talk trash about them, all I can say is that most of the times their offices are open to receive complaints and in some cases they help you solve your problems, but there are others where they simply cancel you as user, where you stop existing to them (I personally know a few guys on both ends of this issue).

Its like we literally do not learn.

We just lost a very important match against Japan for exactly that, underestimating them. I agree with rickdog. we lost the game because of what happened on the pitch duh. but we really lost from the get go in coming out with a sub team
