Total cost per year(gross salary+amortisation) in order: Schick=12-14M(in a normal deal, more complicated in reality). Dzeko=11.5M Kluivert=9M Defrel=6.5M Perotti=6.5M SES=6M I’d look at someone like Mertens only after we sell Dzeko,Defrel/Schick and one of SES/Perotti. That’s around 25M saved, more if we sell Schick. Investing half of it in an established older player wouldn’t be the worst. As for Mertens, his numbers speak for themselves. Scored 0.6 non penalty goals per 90 and created 0.6 big chances or more per 90, replicated over 3 years in a top 3 league. Make a list of players with similar numbers, and you’ll find it extremely short and expensive. I wouldn’t invest more than 12M per year in him, thats around 18M fee and 6M gross salary. That would be less than Nzonzi.
Nonsense. A million things went wrong this year and we missed out by 3 points. Without CL football, 50 muscle injuries and with a more suitable coach and starting 11, I think its very possible we finish top 4.

If Zaniolo gets sold because we can’t get our sh*t together and make the right sales I’m done. It will be sad to see.
Something came up more substantial for Mertens today. "Outside or false nine, in between Under and SES."
Roma making last-ditch attempt for Barella https://t.co/YtALUwhlJr— RomaPress (@ASRomaPress) June 19, 2019
Given our track record with buying over-priced Seria A wonderkids, potential moves like this one are not without their share of dread. I'd rather us shop abroad, instead of paying the premium for Italian-based talent.
https://www.calciomercato.com/en/ne...nal-and-spurs-target-andersen-makes-exi-92711 This market is going to be so frustrating... Andersen was a player I really wanted and he's stating he's ready to move on.
Barella might be high priced (Time to buy him was two seasons ago when he already looked great), but it's a key position that would make the team that much better.

Just freaking get Bennacer and Diawara. Sell Nzonzi. Zaniolo (Pastore) Pellegrini Bennacer (Cristante Diawara)

Ok, but who are we selling? I wasn't debating their cost, I was debating the likelihood of moving them. You made it sound like in August, we'd without a doubt have moved multiple forwards. Where is that certainty coming from? And is waiting until August to sell Manolas really that wise? lol, you know I know his numbers. That's why I went with the contextual evaluation of him being a SES level player before Sarri. You're welcome to think he's a supreme talent that's translatable in any environment, but I think that's a little misguided. Intuition is the highest form of intelligence - not reading stats and creating lists. Fair enough, I don't think it's a smart investment at all, but that's just me. Apologies if I came across a tad aggressive in the previous post. We'll see who's right in the end (if it happens).
Stuttgart got relegated and actually have a couple guys I'd be interested in, likely with more affordable prices (and relegation clauses) as well. CB, Marc-Oliver Kempf is pretty intriguing And then, there's my guy Santiago Ascacibar, who might be my favourite young DM in the world. I'd have to study him a little more closely to decide if he's good for Fonseca, but he's a warrior and I love him: This kid shits on Nzonzi.

Kind of disappointed we never got to see Ponce play for Roma, especially after having an intriguing season with Athens, but that 8m will help. It'd be great if we somehow snuck in a 15% sell-on clause or something. Regardless, I wish the kid all the best in his career.
