I’m very interested in that. I’m very big on seeding. It might eliminate the false pot 1 teams which have a gargantuan advantage and move the unlucky pot 3 types like Ukraine up. Otherwise, with Lunin,Tsyhankov,Zinchenko,Kovalenko,Sobol and Matviyenko joining yarmo and kono,is it POSSIBLE we might be seeing a golden generation? I’m used to losing, and fully expect it,but when have we ever had this much POTENTIAL?

So, Ukrainian U-20 NT is on to the semifinals of the 2019 U-20 World Cup after defeating Colombia, 1-0.

Ukrainian senior NT is playing Serbia today in the 2020 UEFA Euro Championship qualifying.

I knew you guys were alive! Ukrainian football is so hard to find anything about online (in English). Does anyone know why Supriaha who was a stud and one of the players of the tournament was supplanted by Sikan on the u20? I’m more interested in Sikan than anything, I mean the guy is 18 and playing against 20 year olds and replaced a stud 2 years older than him. Sadly, I don’t think Lunin will lay against Italy as he’ll likely be the backup against Luxembourg.

Supryaha WAS a stud. He is not considered a stud anymore. His development just slowed or stopped. The guy seems disinterested, avoids hard, physical play.

    And you saw the results.

Today was such an impressive day for Ukrainian footy remembered about this place and decided to see what you guys were up to haha

Sheva has the zbirnaya buzzing and the u20 lads running around like wild centaurs, absolutely demoralizing their opponents. Today was a great day, hope you all are doing well. I miss the golden era haha big time nostalgia being back here!

It's, probably, not just Sheva. I am very impressed by what's happening in Poland at the U-20 World Cup...

    Bump...

Nervy win against inferior opponent in typical Ukraine fashion, some things never change. This is why we can't have nice things lol...

After a titanic struggle, a 10-man Ukrainian U-20 squad prevails 1-0 over Italy to advance to the U-20 World Cup final match against the winner of Ecuador/South Korea semifinal.

I must also add that we were saved by a VAR, which prevented Italian goal in the injury time due to a hand-to-face foul. Technically, the foul was there (the arm did strike Bondar in the face), but it was a very soft foul and, without VAR, it would have counted.

Heroic win, figured Ukraine footy would slowly die after the war ruined our league quality, somehow still producing lads. Absolutely heroic win, once in a lifetime chance to be world champions! June 2019 a special period of resurgence in Ukrainian footy, very proud. Gotta keep hungry and finish the job!

Our captain Bondar so foolish to trust the ref to give that foul in that situation, lucky boy had VAR save him. He's a great captain you can tell, tough with the opponents but sweet talking the ref lol what a lad. Lucky boy that was not smart, unbelievable goal by Italy in 90th min...thank God ref called it the same way as the red card 10 min prior

Congratulations from a fan of Korea, living in Croatia. I like Ukraine. I like Korea even more. Ukraine showed mental resilience and tactical maturity to win.

Supriaha looked so good. Exactly what Ukraine has been missing since sheva. Dude just knows how to score. His first touch and ability to turn instantly are elite. Hoping another club in a decent league expresses some interest and let’s him play. Wonder what happened to get him benched, Goliath said it was atttude.

Lunin was unworldly. Even the shots that sailed over the net, you see how high and far his legs spring him. It’s hard to find a spot that he can’t reach. Looked bad on the spot kick, but he did save one of those against Nigeria and that’s apparently his strength. He may be the best prospect since sheva in 1996.

Buletsa, who has been compared to Modric sure as helll didn’t look like it that game. Created some openings, but seemingly not with creativity or speed. More of a bulldog from what I saw. His shots and free kicks were either in accurate or easy to handle. Thichisvilli needs to shave bad, but man is he dangerous in space.

Mykolenko is the crown jewel of defense, but is a regular with the senior team. He was eligible for this team and would likely have added another level to the team. Popov is a possibility as better khacheridi. Tough as nails and for a fullback adds a great element of attack on corners. Bondar is interesting as well. He seemed to control that back line. The Ukrainian defense was so good at using their heads to clear the ball. Like noticeably good.

Popov is gold. I think he is the best defender in that team. You could see how Koreans were winning air balls in Ukrainian area off the standards. Popov usually prevented that kind of thing.

Gotta say been disappointed by Supriaha apart from his clutch performance in the Final. I believe he got the start v. Ajax for Dynamo in Champs League qualifiers Aug 2018, was so young was out of his element. But here at u20 World Cup he looked poor in his cameos, got bullied off the ball too much. No complaints in the Final, he has good pace and created havoc, loved the toe poke finish on the 1st goal. He has a good body top for a striker. He's a Dnipro lad first & foremost btw, and looks like him & Buletsa coming back home
During the celebrations I noticed he was way too bitchy, complaining to capt. Bondar and then wanted to take a pic with a couple teammates but Lunin took the trophy from him to take a pic with others and he was super fed up and pouty haha

Was surprised to hear you criticize Buletsa. His speed is average but his dribbling & possession play is legit. A few times was for sure he was set to lose the ball and he wiggled his way through, has nutmeg in his repertoire and kinda strong pit bull like body type like you mentioned. Tkiashvili looked like a u20 version of Bernardo Silva at times, would be glorious if he develops into a quality pro. Both him & Tsigankov grew up in Israel btw *sip sip*

    Lmao!

Buletsa & Supraga both scored for Dnipro-1 within 10 minutes of the season opener wow...don't know how I'm supposed to feel about this Dnipro mess. On the one hand I'm heartbroken our history is just a memory, on the other hand top flight footy is back in my city for the first time in 2 years
Dnipro had a 17 yr old kid starting in CM today and Nazarenko's son is 19 and assisted the 2nd goal. Dnipro was a club on the rise before the Russian invasion, sad what's happened but a few feel good stories have me yearning for a more promising future...

Ukraine with a comfortable win in Lithuania (surreal scenes, practically entire stadium were Ukraine fans), matched with Serbia's loss to Portugal a home win v. Lithuania practically guarantees us a spot in Euro2020 (we would have to lose by 5 goals in Serbia after failing to draw Portugal at home for us to finish 3rd).

Friendly v. Nigeria in Dnipro on tuesday now
