the valencia mestalla coach, chema sanz, who also worked as part of marcelino’s staff, did an interview where he spoke very highly of kangin.

he said he’s a talented footballer and has a personality that sets him apart from others. he’s competitive, ambitious, has a lot of confidence in himself, does well in demanding situations, etc.

he basically said kangin’s got a bright future and has all the tools needed to succeed in elite football/valencia cf.

he knows that kangin was used to playing a lot prior to joining the 1st team, but thinks that despite his lack of minutes, even just training with others in the 1st team and working with the coaching staff has been good for his progression. it’s been important for them to take things slow and be patient with the process.

the ferran torres example was mentioned as always - how he didn’t play much his 1st season but played a lot more this year and that’s probably what we’ll see with kangin.

idk. i still don’t feel as though marcelino will give him many opportunities to play next season. kangin playing in the u-20 world cup has probably attracted a lot of attention from different clubs so it’ll be interesting to see what happens with him.

I bet the clubs were City and Ajax. They sent reps to U-20.

Marcellino favors a 4-4-2, and that won't help LKI. He would be best as a no. 10?

Hope Marcelino will be brave enough to play this kid next season.

From reality TV to wonder kid Lee
Lee Kangin has impressed with his maturity at the FIFA U-20 World Cup Poland 2019, despite being the youngest member of the Korea Republic squad. Such is his ease on the ball that it is not hard to see why Valencia handed him his La Liga debut in January.

In coming on in the 86th minute of his side’s 1-1 draw with Real Valladolid, he became the second-youngest player to appear in the 2018/19 Spanish top flight, at the age of 17 years, ten months and 24 days. Only Ander Barrenetxea of Real Sociedad was younger, at 16 years, 11 months and 24 days.

Lee owes his presence in Spain to his appearance on a Korean TV reality show called Shoot Dori. Though he was only six at the time, that did not stop him from catching the eye of Valencia’s scouts, who signed him up for the club’s training academy.

Valencia needs to build a team around this KID. He can take them to the CL Finals to meet SON's Spurs! Valencia vs Spurs for the CL Title!

I'm not too sure if Valencia can keep him in the long run. Lee maybe gone in two years.

Surely Lee will be nominated for Golden Ball for U-20? Golden ball receipients have a decent track record of becoming stars (some winners include Messi Aguero Pogba)

Let's beat Ecuador first, they are current South American Champions.

    :):)
I expect him to be one of the candidates. I’ve often seen his name mentioned as one of the top players in the tournament. If they happen to beat Ecuador today, I imagine he will have played another huge role in getting them the win and it’ll better his chances of receiving the award.

Individual awards are nice but I just want Korea to make history and bring that trophy home! I definitely didn’t think they could beat Argentina or Senegal so hopefully they’ll continue to pleasantly surprise me during these last two rounds.

Personally I would like to see him play for Ajax, Valencia style of play doesn’t fit LKI. But Erik ten Hag’s style does. Their series of passing was fun to watch at the CL, and if he performs well there maybe he’ll get links to Barcelona too lol
