    Ooooopsie

He is a beast in the air. Weakness is getting isolated 1x1 vs speedy players.

He's Ramos. Barça better get him. He makes Pique plan B look useless.

England defence LOL [emoji23] What garbage. Netherlands well deserved but the need a killer striker. Crapshit depay won't cut it, he's missing way too much.

Depay has been blowing hot and cold his entire career now. Such a frustrating player. He can have a massive game one day, and look completely useless the next. As far as de Ligt goes, well, what CB doesn't have trouble with speedy players? I mean, that's why speedy players tend to be wingers or strikers.
However, even in a game where de Ligt was Ok, he still scored the important equalizer and made some crucial tackles like the one on Kane right in front of goal.

No one said he was perfect, no CB is, everyone has good games and sometimes not so good games. If this is one of his not so good games at 19, I don't want to imagine him playing for another club. They love to hate on de Ligt in the Madrid thread, but that's likely cause they know he won't join their scummy club. Imagine if we put a microscope on Varane this season, he'd be classified as an amateur for all his mistakes. Even Ramos has bad games.

Frenkie was great tonight. MOTM as far as I'm concerned. He's just so good at keeping possession and getting out of a seemingly troublesome situation. He just dominates that midfield. It's too bad the Dutch attack didn't give him the outlets he needed to make some killer passes. Cannot wait to see him at Barcelona and I hope he brings de Ligt with him.

So a 19 year old making some errors is surprising? Did we all forget that he made a crucial tackle

Every single CB, experienced, not experienced, elite, non-elite, makes errors. Ramos makes them, Varane makes them, Pique makes them, Van Dijk makes them. What sets you apart from the rest is how you react to them. De Ligt reacted brilliantly. Kept his composure, put it past him and was immense, even scoring the all-important equalizer and making up for his mistake. 19 years old. Compare that to the hot mess Stones was tonight...

Nice finish by the Mali striker against Italy in the U-20 World Cup quarterfinals.

Don't think Hazard flops, just hope he doesn't turn into a prolific goal scorer.

It's highly unlikely he flops. He's basically a mini Messi. Amazing dribbler, great playmaker, decent goal scorer when he's in form. Plus he's more than proven in one of the biggest leagues in the world.

I think he will flourish at Madrid and cause us all sorts of problems, especially if he sorts out his end-product. It's still early days and Madrid have already made some great signings. Seems like they're going for a full-on revolution with all of the names being linked to them.

If we're not careful we might come up empty-handed next season. It's a typical situation where something like that might happen. Fans and board split on the decision to keep the coach, idem ditto for some regular players.

We're in kind of a transitional period but are still hesitant to make the necessary changes. Rakitic seems to think he's untouchable, Busquets, while a Barcelona legend in his own right, has also struggled, and Vidal, as good as he has been for us, is also a short-term solution at best. I hope to see much more of Arthur and especially Frenkie next season. I also quietly hope to see more of Puig.

Suarez, while still a great striker, is getting to that age and has undeniably struggled on the grandest stage, especially taking into consideration the arguments being made about taking some of the load off Messi. Dembele has stood out more for his injury struggles than anything else unfortunately. This has no doubt hampered his progress and makes me wonder where he stands next season. Will he be ready to take the next step and be the player we need him to be? He has the talent no doubt.

We need to make some moves ourselves, not just because Madrid has, but because it is necessary for a club with our ambitions. Oh well, let's see how this transfer period transpires. I just hope Bartomeu knows what he'd doing if he decides to keep Valverde on board. Like I said, it just seems like a typical "setup to fail miserably" scenario.

Missing out on De Ligt would be an epic failure. PSG doubled their offer and sources say they’re favourite. They also want Coutinho wow

Does van Djik have what it takes to become a legendary defender like Cannavaro, Maldini etc?

I wouldn't say failure but many will blame the management. In the end, you can't force the player to come. There is only so much the club can pay him before sacrificing other parts of the team.

De Ligt going to PSG is a failure and if he chooses that he's dumber than ********. Look at everyone wanting to leave PSG, should make one think twice. Raiola is just manipulating him for money.

If Raiola is manipulating De Ligt for money then De Ligt is not what we all think he is. Afterall, he is touted to be a leader and whatnot at such young age then how can he be manipulated?

I think the issue here is De Ligt himself. I mean, Raiola is not even his agent, he hired him to get more money in any transfer. For the buying club, De Ligt added Raiola’s agent fees on top of any transfer fee, and this fee is apparently €10 mill. That’s a lot of money for any club and I still dont understand why a player of his talent need such person by his side while negotiating a contract?

This is why we should stay away from rumors. Nobody truly knows what's going on. People are getting mad at de Ligt while it might be something different entirely.

I am not mad at De Ligt at all. He can do whatever he wants with his career. I am happy if he chose us on the same/worse term to FDJ. If he chooses another club, fine by me, as I don’t think CB should be the priority of our squad strengthning.

And ya, check your facts. Everything I said on the post you quoted me is a fact. So, dont just quote me to act oversmart.

Lmao. Firstly, don't get your panties in a bunch. I never said anything about the validity of your post, nor am I interested in "checking my facts". Cause the rabbit hole in this situation can go as deep as you want it to. I'll leave that up to nutters like yourself.

Secondly, you state that you think the issue is de Ligt. So you throw an opinion out there, based on speculation. You don't actually know if de Ligt is the problem. That's what I meant with staying away from rumors. If we take the rumors at face value we'd have a different opinion everyday. "He's made his decision, he wants Barcelona" "Contract talks have stalled" "Raiola wants more money" "De Ligt wants more money" "De Ligt would rather go to PSG because of they offer him more money" "De Ligt needs to show he wants to play for Barcelona" "De Ligt demands a starting role" "De Ligt only wants Barcelona" "De Ligt would love to join his buddy Frenkie" etc etc.

Lastly, this is a public forum where opinions are shared and discussed. If you can't handle that than I suggest you go post somewhere where everyone somehow shares the same opinion and there is never any debate. Godspeed.
