Agree with both your picks. CFJS seems to be coming back to the pack but still should have enough to win this year.

    One coach...

Player on bench asks coach if bench was going in.

Coach asks "did you just ********ing ask if you were going in?"

"We are ********ing losing. Sit the ******** back down".

    Class act.

I know you are talking about NK. Sounds just like him. I can't believe the parents put up with that. What a joke. Too scared to stand up and speak up, because little Suzy might sit the bench more than she already does.

Were you at the game? I don’t think so. He did not use any expletives when he told that girl to sit. Got to be careful when you get your information.

Or.....when mommy/daddy constantly browbeat the coach to death into letting little Susie play when it’s obvious she doesn’t have the skill set or soccer mentality to play with her peers.

Then that is the coaches fault for picking an unqualified player. Not the parents. Why would you pick a player without skill set or game knowledge at this point? Regardless, a certain coach in the area has a reputation for some pretty harsh language doled out to twelve and thirteen year olds.

Why is it the coaches fault??? Maybe he tried to develop her from the beginning of the year and it just didn’t work out. But the parents shouldn’t constantly harass the coach just because they want their daughter to start and play more or that that child has been at the club so long that they’ve earned that right for starting or more play time even though the kid is not up to par with her teammates. Like I mentioned before, there are several kids on that team that started out slow but have blossomed into really good players and that’s because NK provided that opportunity for them to grow and develop.
As for the harsh language, you’re correct, at times. However, it’s nothing this age group wouldn’t hear at school (I’ve heard way worse) and probably at home, but I can’t speak for everyone. If you don’t like it, don’t go there, simple as that. He’s passionate about what he does and he does care about developing the girls. This is a lot different from a ton of coaches FCX for example who just phone it in and don’t give a crap about their players.

So - I really do not want to get close to this hot mess because that's what it is. You have parents on one side who love the guy and parents on the other who are wondering why they ever even let thier kid around him. I happen to know parents on both sides and they could not be further away from each other in terms of their perspectives.

Does it all come down to playing time? Often it does. But at the end of the day, if a coach is abusive - the fault lies on the parent for accepting that in the hopes that their kid becomes the next super-star.

My kid never played for this coach - I have no first hand knowledge other then what I have seen in 3 games and heard from a Eclipse staff member. If you want to discuss more - feel free to PM me.

going thru this now with daughter's u11 coach. when we are winning she's great. when its tied or we are struggling, she's a psychotic mess. Over the weekend some girls on the bench heard he swearing to the assistant i.e. what the fu*k is little suzie doing, that type of stuff. To me thats never ok especially around 10 and 11 year olds.

My 10 year old daughter had such a great response to her coach and other coaches screaming like maniacs on the sideline "how can an adult get so angry about a 10-11 year old girls soccer game"? Such truth in her question. And before someone says she must not be competitive she's arguably the best player on her team that just won State Cup yesterday. Lives and breathes soccer just doesnt get how adults could get so angry about it.

This is upsetting. Sadly I've heard about this type of thing at Eclipse before but never seen or heard it first hand. Personally I feel that a good leader would've managed that situation different. That coach might be regarded as a good coach but I'm sure he can have the same or better impact without foul language. To this point, wasn't there a coach from Chicago that went to Cincinnati and didn't last long because of this type of coaching?

On another note, out of curiosity does anyone know how many players from Chicago have been called into a YNT camp since January 1? And where they're coming from? I feel like the number is down.

10+ years and numerous big and small clubs in Chicagoland and I still haven't seen the perfect all-around coach. Either they're great in training but then lousy once it comes to games(for various reasons). Or they're great in game coaches and get the most out of what the kids have but the training sessions are lacking. I have heard CT at FCU was the best but haven't had first hand experience(speaking on the boys side).

There is no reason for coaches to have bad behavior like this. NK has a reputation for it and it can get pretty bad. I haven’t seen him in a few years but I guess he hasn’t changed. Dropping F-bombs or other language the way I have seen him do it and the way it is described above is simply demeaning. Nothing positive psychologically to be gained.

I don't know who NK is, but he doesn't sound like someone I'd want working with my kid. Can you imagine if a teacher acted that way toward a student? You'd hear about it on the evening news!

My 13 yr old daughter was berated by her coach to the point of tears for not cheering loud enough at the end of practice huddle.

We thought she might be exaggerating but other parents called us about it because her teammates were so shook by it.

Yes CT is very good, had a great mentor in LS at Fire. Heard FCU have some other good coaches in boys DA also

It angers me to hear this. No kid deserves that kind of treatment. Was this NK or a different coach? Can I ask what club?

Sockers has two that I’m aware of actually being called up to a usywnt camp (not just ID session). I’m sure Eclipse has a bunch more than that.

In addition he told us she would be on the team next fall (have the text) and then cut her at tryouts if front of her whole team.

Let me say he has every right to cut her. She isn’t his type of player. She is on the small size but has great vision and plays possession. He prefers big rugged girls who rather play rugby than soccer.

Since we still have games I won’t say much right now. But the club is not ECNL or DA. Plus her team isn’t the top team at the club.
