Is it Highbury? Or Stamford Bridge since it's been completed? :) White Hart Lane? The Boleyn Ground?

Or will it be the new Wembley??

Of the club grounds in London, the nicest one to go to is The Valley.

    I nominate Crystal Palace.

Nothing quite like standing in a cowshed after spending eight hours getting there. :D

I walked past "Emerits Stadium" a couple weeks ago... looks like it is coming along nicely. Can't wait to get there to see a match. New Wembley also looks quite nice.

Still, i think Charlton have the nicest completed non-rugby stadium in london.

It's not 'completed' though. They have planning permission to extend the ground and want a 40k capacity eventually. Fantastic what they 've achieved given the fact that 10 plus years ago the ground was essentially derilict.

i'm biased toward the lane, of course; but i'll not argue with the captain. the valley is, indeed, a quality facility for a quality football club.

i'll also take a second to put in a word for the new den. i've only been there once; but i came away impressed. in fact, i spent much of my time there thinking that this is what the model should be for MLS clubs here in the states.

Oooohh, spooky. I am agreeing with a Spurs fan about how good The Den is. I've seen Millwall a few times and always loved it. So much passion and fun. Their fans have a bad rep (I don't know whether it's deserved or not, maybe someone else can elaborate) but I've never had a problem.

You are in between Arsenal/Spurs and Chelsea/QPR/Fulham are. But honestly, if you are in London, you can get to any team in a short time. The Underground is so wonderful that you can stay anywhere and go to any game.

    Teams in London:

    EPL:
    Chelsea
    Arsenal
    Tottenham HotSpurs
    Charlton Athletic
    Fulham
    Crystal Palace

    CC Championship:
    West Ham United
    Queens Park Rangers (QPR)
    Millwall
    Watford
Reading (about 1 hour drive from London)

    Div 1:
    Brentford

    Div 2:
    Leyton Orient

-Did I miss anyone?? I did this off the top of my head.-

Whenever I go to WHL, I sit in area called the shelf, I think that's what my pal called it - there is a bloody great pillar between us and the pitch, but other than that it's a nice facility.

Chelsea Village has already got the hotel and penthouse apartments - very nice stadium!

Haven't been to Arsebury for a number of years - last time I went, you could still stand - saw them play Newcastle, Malcolm McDonald was playing!

Funny though, I always liked the old Wembley - I know it was a sh!thole, but it had so much atmosphere when it mattered!

I went to the Valley directly before and immediately after the rebuild - definitely the most-improved - although I spent a lot of time as a youngster at the Den and that was the pits :(

I just got back from London a couple of month's ago, and I got to tell you..... Stamford Bridge and Highbury were sweet. Both parks were top notch.

I went and saw the Chelsea/Spurs game back on Sept. 19. We also took a stadium tour of Highbury..... It was hard to compare them to each other as IMO there were to different types of stadiums. (one was open and one was closed) I think there we both stunning, (maybe for the fact that I was an American standing in the middle of soccer/football's most sacred city).

but outside of those two grounds.... I wouldn't be able to compare them fairly since I have never seen them in person.

So, for the ignorant Yanks here, what are the NAMES of the stadiums (stadia?) - I gather that "The Den" is Millwall's stadium - And is Wembley the home stadium of any team or just a big place for big games?

I'll save electrons by not ticking off all the names, because I gather you're looking for more information than that. Now that you have a list of the London clubs, you can poke around here for more info:

    http://www.footballgroundguide.co.uk/

Really great site, has ticket info, pictures, the whole nine yards . . .

Oh, and old Wembley has been demolished, and New Wembley is currently under construction. No club owned it, but it was used for Cup Finals and the like. You can Google it if you want pictures of New Wembley or any of the history of the place.

Twickenham (England's rugby ground) is the best at moment.
    Followed by White Heart Lane.

New Wembly should be class as well.
